Marketing Assignment::S

Met Jade early in the morning to go to Pasir Ris with me. She'll be meeting her secondary school friends there and as for me, I'm going for tuition. We were still early when we reached the MRT station so we decided to go and walk around at White Sands. Most of the shops are still close so went to FairPrice instead.

Finish my tuition at 12pm. Had lunch with Mr Eugene at the food court there. I had clay pot noodles:P Chat for quite some time. Haha..we were talking about PW and how he told his students not to do survey. So cheating. That reminds me of the amount of work we did for our PW. Haa..feel so sad thinking about it. Anyway, I think I was a good experience. Although many people thinks that it is a waste of time, to me it is really a good experience to go out and see how many projects are done at a lower level. Going on the street to interview the shop owners, passing out survey to passer-by, collating the data, I really learn a lot from it.

After lunch, I wanted to go to the library to complete my marketing assignment but the library in Pasir Ris was super packed. Went over to Tampines Regional Library instead but it was equally bad. I think it's exam season and everyone is there studying for O Level and A Level. Manage to find a seat but there's no power plug so after about 1 hour plus my laptop ran out of battery.

Had dinner at Century Square before heading back to PGP to complete my assignment. Hopefully I'll be able to finish everything before I sleep. I've yet to study for my test on Thursday and I really need the time to do so. Can't waste so much time on this assignment.

PAIN...

Woke up super early this morning coz i want to do my laundry. Don't want to wait until late at night. Finish doing all my laundry by 9.30am. Had cereal for breakfast and started to do my marketing assignment. Manage to complete the technical parts before lunch.

Had lunch with Michelle at
PGP. We went for almost 1 hour. Haha..really can slowly enjoy our food and chat at the same time. Came back at about 1 plus. Folded all my laundry, chat and slept till about 3pm.

Highlight for today's the dinner. Before meeting Joyce for dinner, went over to
Auntie Rita's house to collect something. And Ryan's like busy playing his computer. So bad. Just ignore me. Haha..but manage to get his attention in the end. Had dinner at 85. We ordered a lot of food..hehe..got minced meat noodles, rojak, drinks and also ais kacang for dessert. Super full. We ate for almost 2+ hours, from 6.30pm till about 9pm.

Took bus 30 back to PGP and passed by a lot of food centre. We decided to eat at Old Airport Road after our finals. Yummy. Can't wait for that.

Went to shower and I was super unlucky. Hit against the bench in the toilet and hurt myself. Ouch. So pain :'( Bleeding some more. Okie I don't feel like typing already. Pain Pain Pain....

The PCR Song

The PCR Song

There was a time when to amplify DNA,

You had to grow tons and tons of tiny cells.

Then along came a guy named Dr. Kary Mullis,
Said you can amplify in vitro just as well.

Just mix your template with a buffer and some primers,
Nucleotides and polymerases, too.

Denaturing, annealing, and extending.
Well it’s amazing what heating and cooling and heating will do.

PCR, when you need to detect mutations.
PCR, when you need to recombine.
PCR, when you need to find out who the daddy is.
PCR, when you need to solve a crime.

(repeat chorus)

Haha..this was the song they showed us during our practical session today. So fun..nothing really special happened today. Met my uncle this morning to go and sign the MOE tuition grant. And I forgotten to bring my passport!! Arrgh..luckily the MOE officer was nice and she allow my uncle to sign the tuition grant first. She told me to look for her with my passport and student pass later. My uncle signed the agreement and I rush for my practical session. Haa.. and I'm late!! Luckily I only miss a short briefing by the professor.

Start to do our experiment. And it's gel electrophoresis again! Something that I'm quite familiar with. Nothing really special happen. Just that we have a lot of time to talk talk in the lab. Haha..have to wait for the gel to solidify, digest the DNA and run the gel. Took the gel electrophoresis photo, rush off to PGP after briefing by Michelle.

Reach MPSH at about 2+ pm. The officer was like "Haa so late. I thought you forgotten already" Haha..how can I forget:P She was very friendly. Was chatting with her for quite some time. And that also means that I took very long to sign the agreement. The other tables was like come and go and I'm still there. Haha..a bit wasting others' time.

Anyway, went back to PGP after that. Took a nap. Bryan message me at 5pm to ask me go for dinner. Waa..anyhow disturb my sleep. Haa..went out at around 5.30pm after sleeping for awhile more. Reach school like about 5.50pm. Waa..super rush for dinner again. So bad for digestion lor, always make me eat so fast.

Attended Biochem tutorial. And he was teaching us about how to mass produce protein. Reached back PGP around 7pm. Haha. Gerard gave me a lift again. So nice rite. Don't need to take the shuttle bus for the whole week.

God's Pharmacy

It's been said that God first separated the salt water from the fresh, made dry land, planted a garden, made animals and fish... all before making a human. He made and provided what we'd need before we were born. These are best & more powerful when eaten raw. We're such slow learners...

God left us a great clue as to what foods help what part of our body!

God's Pharmacy! Amazing!

A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye...and YES, science now shows carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.

A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart has four chambers and is red. All of the research shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and are indeed pure heart and blood food.

Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.

A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts help develop more than three (3) dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.

Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.

Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and many more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet, the body pulls it from the bones, thus making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.

Avocadoes, Eggplant and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents c e rvical cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly nine (9) months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).

Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm as well to overcome male sterility.

Sweet Potatoes
look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.

Olives
assist the health and function of the ovaries

Oranges, Grapefruits
, and other Citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.

Onions
look like the body's cells. Today's research shows onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells. The y even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes. A working companion, Garlic, also helps eliminate waste materials and dangerous free radicals from the body.

Genetics CA2

Yay..one test down..Haha..Gerard gave me a lift home again and that means I didn't need to waste time waiting for the bus. Today's test was quite alright. There was really just 2 questions no different parts. But the only thing is that the question he asked don't really have an exact answer. So in the end I drew picture to answer it. Haha..hopefully can get some marks there.

Anyway, I went to school at around 12.30pm to meet Ee Lin and Mun Lok at Science Library. Printed my lab report and lecture notes for the day. They accompanied me to submit my lab report then we
went for lunch at around 1.40pm. They already had their lunch so it was just me eating there. And I have to rush to finish my lunch. Wow..it was really record breaking. Haha..I manage to finish eating at about 1.58pm. Just nice to go for lecture which starts at 2pm. Phew..haa..can't believe how fast I ate.

Today's Biochem lecture's taught by Dr. Swami. We were basically lea
rning on DNA and that's what we actually learn for Genetics. Haa..so confusing. Biochem lesson learning Genetics stuff. Anyway he inserted a few stories in between the lecture. So it was quite entertaining. Plus I just had my lunch, a bit sleepy:P

Story No. 1

There was this group of marketers who went to Saudi Arabia to publicise a new detergent brand. There were a group of top marketers who's
confident that they will be able to boast the sales by the end of the month. So they set up all the advertisements and waited. One month past, 0 sales. Two months past, 0 sales. Three months past, 0 sales. They got a bit worried and went to check the marketing billboards and advertisement. There seems to be fine. Picture 1 showing a dirty shirt, Picture 2 showing someone soaking the shirt into the detergent and Picture 3 shows a clean white shirt. However, they didn't realise one thing, people in Saudi Arabia read from right to left!! So they actually got the wrong message:D
Moral of the story: Understand the culture of the people.

Story No.2

There was a small kitten who's walking around the
park and she met a dog. The dog barks "woof" and the kitten was scared. She ran back to the mother and told her about the dog. The mother cat told the kitten to bring her there and show her the dog. When the dog saw them, the dog barks again "woof". The mother cat respond by "woof", the dog got scared and ran away.
Moral of the story: It is important to know a second language.

After that lecture we went over for our next lecture. Genetics:S Haa..I'm already half asleep by then. Today's lecture is about RNA modification which is more on proteins and that's what we already learn in Biochem. Wow..today's lessons are super confusing. And Dr He hardly speaks into the mic so half the time I can hardly catch what he is trying to say. He ended the lecture at about 5.50pm. Gave us a short 10 minutes break and off we go to start our test. He went through the answers at the end of the test. Not sure how I did. But I think should be okay if he do give me marks for my drawing:P

Had dinner with Gerard and Mun Lok. At Science canteen again. Haha..but this time I get to eat as slow as I want to:P No hurry. Haha..then we start talking about the fun we had in campfire. Really miss those days where we built our gadget and attend campfires.

Bizcom Bazaar

Alright, it's tuesday again. My free day! Haha..always look forward to it. But this week...i've got to do coverage for the Bizcom Bazaar. Met Guo Qi again in the morning to get the key and time table. Went to YIH at around 12.30pm, collect the equipments..haha..i look like going to market..carrying one big bag of camera, one small videocam and one tripod. Luckily there isn't many people on the bus, manage to get a sit but just for one stop though. Haha..reach central forum at 1pm. Was super rush coz according to the time table the event starts at 1pm and I haven't even set up the things. Made my way to the stage area and set up the tripod. Waited for Nadhirah to join me. She had marketing presentation before that. We waited for quite long and finally they fixed the mic at around 1.30pm. Make me rush all the way for nothing. So angry!!..I took the videographer job..haa super boring. Ask us to film some talk on wine appreciation and pasta quiz. And the person was like walking all over the stage. So hard to film la..plus I was almost going to fall asleep. Haha..I think some part of the video cant see the person coz he walk too much and some people was walking in front of the camera blocking them. Oh oh and there was this guy who actually stand right in front of my camera to talk to his friend. So irritating:S

Anyway, we finish at 2pm. Didnt bother to wait for the next event. I'm super hungry already. Went back to YIH to put down the camera and grab my bag. Ate at the canteen there then went to Science Library to print my lab report. But the was some error and I cant fix it so came back to PGP to edit my file. Decided to print it tomorrow instead since Dr He havent upload his lecture notes as usual and I will still need to make my way there again.

Study for my genetics test tomorrow. Hopefully I'm ready for it. Need to try and score full marks. Have to make up for the last test. Took my afternoon nap at around 4+pm..Haha..not sure when I fell asleep also. Woke up and saw it's already 6pm. Message Jinfeng to tell him I'll be late for IGC today. And I dunno why somehow I fell asleep again. Woke up at 7pm. Went to buy dinner, shower and make my way to YIH again.

Met the NUSSU president on the bus. He was rushing for Exco meeting. I went to collect the equipments for tomorrow's coverage and then join them at MPSH 4. Played Othello till around 10pm. Alex drop me at PGP. Suppose to reach in like less than 10 mins but because he dont know the way, he took the wrong turn. Haha..sorry I should have warn u earlier:P Anyway thanks. Hehe..at least I dont have to wait for the bus which comes like every 30mins:S Played with the mini othello set on his car. Haha..so cool.

Anyway, yeap so my day off is kind of wasted. Didnt manage to do much. Have to get back to my revision. All the best to me tomorrow. Have to work hard. Haha..luckily the test is at 6pm and my first lesson is at 2pm. Can sleep longer:P.

My new TA...

Just came back from school and the fire alarm starts ringing.. Haih..make me walk 4 storeys down and 4 storeys up..and as we were walking down, there's like so many people staring at our block. Then we realise that it's only our block where the alarm is triggered! Anyway, it stopped quite soon and here I am back in my room.

Haha..we had genetics practical again today and most of the things we do, I have already done them during my attachment at TLL. So it's a bit boring. And what's worse, our new TA hardly speaks more than 20 words!!! I certainly miss our previous TA. Anyway, our practical is on
Drosophila Melanogaster and we are suppose to look at the appearance and distinguish the sex of the flies. Very boring.

Besides our usual practical, we were asked to be test subject for a research paper. So we need to provide DNA samples. We were given salt solution and we are suppose to gargle it to obtain cells. After that, they did a skin prick test for allergies. Arr..super itchy. They applied histamine, and some dust mites sample solution on our hand and measure the diameter of the red spot. Oh and we need parental consent for that since most of us are under 21, so we asked Bryan to help be our guardian. Haha..super funny. Quote "Grace: Thanks daddy!"

Started the day by going to YIH early in the morning to collect the tripod for today's Bizcom Bazaar coverage then went to Science Library to print my lecture notes then attended Chem Lecture then rush over to central forum for the coverage. And when I was there, they told me that the performance only starts at 1pm. Super angry lorr. Make me rush all the way there and have to waste 1 hour waiting. Anyway, Guoqi came and took over the coverage from me. Hehe..thanks..thanks..so I went back to Science to have lunch with my usual group of friends. VERY hungry.

Finish my lunch at around 2+pm. Then we went to look for LS Lab 1. Manage to find out that it is actually at S1A. So took a bus there. Haha..I know, it's super near but I'm just lazy to walk. Sat outside the lab till 3pm.

Had dinner in Science canteen again. Haha..Zhisheng and I regretted for coming back to Science. We could have took the bus to another canteen. Met Gerard at the canteen. He gave me a lift home after our dinner. Super tiring day. And I realise I have to do the coverage for tomorrow's event again. All because of the wrong timing given by the Bizcom people.

Alright, I should get back to work now. :P

Terrible Tuesday

Alright..I finally got back my laptop this morning. My series of bad luck started since my marketing group presentation. We did our project on Build-A-Bear Workshop. And Ms Canley said she enjoyed the presentation especially the cute power point slides but our reporting format was a bit messy. We didn't answer some of the questions accurately and some didn't even answer at all. Our SWOT analysis part was incorporated into the report and she didn't want that. She wanted a separate heading. That was really horrible. I think we will not do very well for it. So have to work harder for our individual assignment. Came back to hostel for dinner after the presentation.

But that's not the end to my series of unlucky event. Went home to continue doing my lab report. I have 1 lab report due on Monday and 1 on Wednesday and another 2 assignments to complete. So I was busy rushing my reports and assignments and chatting that it suddenly went into hibernate mode. My laptop ran out of battery so I tried to us the AC adaptor. To my horror, I can't power on my laptop!! Arrgh so sad.

I can't send my laptop for repair on Wed as I'll have lesson from 9am till 6pm. So went to the Acer buliding on Thu. Leo accompanied me there. After sending my laptop for repair, there's nothing much I can do. So we decided to go to Jurong East instead. Went and walk around IMM.

Came back to PGP for dinner and slept early coz there's nothing for me to do.

Met Jinfeng and Cynthia for lunch. The went to Science to meet Leo. He borrowed me his laptop so I can at least complete one of the lab report. I finished my Chem report which is due on Wednesday first instead of Genetics.

The mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee

Was checking my email and came across this mail from Eilene:

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things---your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions---and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car.

The sand is everything else---the small stuff. 'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.
'Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Spend time with your siblings. Spend time with your parents.. Visit your grandparents.
Take time to get medical checkups. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first---the things that really matter.
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled and said, 'I'm glad you asked.'

The coffee just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.'

This is so true. Will always remember it.

Yippie! I love school

Monday's here again. Woke up a bit earlier this morning to get the marketing report from my group mates. Had peanut butter sandwich for breakfast. Rush out to get the bus about 5minutes before the lesson starts. Luckily I was not late for lecture.

Chemistry lecture. As usual I think it was quite hard to understand his lecture. Anyway, I manage to keep awake throughout the whole lecture. Hopefully I still can remember what he teach.

Had lunch with Iris, Zhisheng, Hui Chuan, and Gerard. I really enjoyed the meal with you all. Haha..we started talking about the Mr Brown show, history of Malaysia and Singapore, formula 1 race and practically anything. Someone came over to ask us if we can help her do a survey. We agree. Hopefully we wont be selected by her lecturer to verify the survey:P We were in the canteen for about an hour and Zhisheng was doing his chem tutorial. Haha..so last minute. He tried asking us to find something to do. But we ended up talking the whole time.

Attended chem tutorial. Haha..formed a group with Gerard, Iris and Zhisheng and 2 other person. There's this girl in our group who's like so unfriendly. We tried engaging her in the discussion but she just ignored us. Anyway, although our group was one of the last to chose the questions to present but not bad, we manage to present the questions quite well. Congrats to us. Haha..tutorial ended like 20 minutes earlier than usual. So we had a lot of time to spare before our genetics practical. Zhisheng went to eat. He was turn off by the queue earlier.

Went and sit outside Lt28 to read up on the practical worksheet and the report format. But most of the time, we were talking about the F1 stimulator race and other racing games. So fun so fun. I shall play more after the tests.

Genetics practical . Today's practical is going to be a simple one. We were basically there to collect results from the experiments we did in the previous sessions. Dr He gave a general overview of the experiments and what are the expected results for the genetics manipulation of bacteria DNA. That's not going to be in our report. What's more important is the transformation part. After a short briefing by our TA, we started to examine the agar plate that we plated before the mid-term break. I would say genetics practical is the practical that I enjoyed most. Our TA's like super nice. He never scold us although we were like super forgetful and ask silly questions. Haha..we actually asked him why does the plate have ugly streaks of bacteria on the LB plate when we actually labelled it as water and it's totally no bacteria growth on the LBA plate. We totally forgotten that we actually streak bacteria cells onto the plate and the label water because we transform the cells with water. How silly we were:S haha..we recorded the results and put the 1st experiment's plate one side. Our TA came over to ask what's our result and we told him it was exactly the same as what Dr He had mentioned in the expected results. So proud of ourselves:P He was like 'are you sure you got that?' so we jokingly ask him if he wants to check and he actually said yes! haa..so bad don't trust us:X We started to count the bacteria colonies from the second experiment. Super hard to count. We divided the agar plate into 8 sectors and in one sector there's like more than 400 colonies. Wow! Count until I feel like sleeping. Of course, our TA came and see if we counted the colonies correctly. And definitely, we manage to do it well. He was quite surprise by the number of colonies that we have. He commented that we did well:P High transformation rate, no contamination, well done to us! What a successful experiment. Reminder: Lab report due next week Monday, 11.59pm.

Oh ya, remember the girl I mentioned in chem tutorial which ignored us? She's also in my group for genetics lab. What a coincidence. I still remember Grace mentioned that she look fierce and unfriendly. Quite true. She didn't even talk to us during the whole practical session except maybe with her lab partner:S. Anyway, shall not talk about her anymore. Spoil my fun day:P

Met Jinfeng after my practical lesson. Went over to S9 there to take a few photographs of him. I was suppose to join him for dinner but was too tired so came back to PGP and sleep. Had dinner with Michelle today. We went to the restaurant in PGP. Hehe..our first time there. Haven't try the food there before. Taste not bad. Quite good. The atmosphere was nice too. We had spaghetti and pizza. Wow. Very full.We can hardly finish half the pizza so we decided to pack instead. Can keep for breakfast tomorrow:P After dinner went to meet her senior. Got like 3 years worth of notes.

Well, I think I starts to like school more now. It's not that bad after all. With all the super nice friends that I can depend and rely on. Thanks for being there for me. Love ya all.

Had a hard time pulling myself out of bed this morning. Finish doing my laundry around 3am and I need to wake up at 7.30am for tuition. Reached Amos's house at 10am and he thought I had something on that's why I was late. In fact, he sent me the wrong message. Haha..luckily I'm not late. I was really sleepy. Luckily manage to concentrate and teach him most of the questions. But there's one that I still can't figure out.
Given p x 3q = 2p x r how to show the linear relationship between p, q, and r?

Had lunch at pasir ris. Then met Daniel at Tanah Merah. He accompany me to Vivocity! So nice:p At least I don't need to travel alone. So boring travelling..haha..but I actually slept the entire journey there so doesn't really make a difference. Sorry Daniel, I know you are bored on the train but I was really tired = P Stop poking me! Went to shop shop in Giant. Bought my supply of food. Haha..finally I have something to eat even if I'm lazy to go down to buy. Bought rice, chicken, tuna, luncheon meat, instant noodles, instant porridge
and many many more stuff. Haa..so heavy. Luckily I got direct bus back to PGP.

Went online and I saw all the messages my group mates sent to me. Haha..so sorry for the late reply and thanks a lot for the help. I'll do my part tonight which is suppose to be now but I don't know where to start. Will get it done by tomorrow. Don't worry:D

Instead I chat chat online with all my friends and YES! I called Mummy!! Haha..and she said she might be coming end of the year then she'll go back with me! Yippee! Oh must remind myself to
bring camera to school tomorrow. Need to help Jinfeng take his portrait:P Alex teased me for chatting with all guys:S Luckily Cynthia was chatting with me too. Haha..proved him wrong. Cynthia helped me with the marketing assignment. Hehe..thank you. Big hugs to you.

Sanva invited us to AH farewell. It'll be on the 11th of Oct 2008. Really looking forward to it. I miss all my hostel buddies. This is really a good opportunity to catch up with everyone. But too bad Jade can only join us later in the day. She'll be having her guitar practice. Anyway, at least she'll be joi
ning us. Hope Linh, Thaddeus, Yung, Chula and the rest will be joining us too. Hmm, I wonder what I should be wearing. Formal? Casual? Haa I shall decide when the time comes.

That's what I wore last year! Got it from my roomie, Jade:P

Okie time for me to get back to my assignment...or shall I play game? No no must be disipline. Must finish everything by tonight - marketing assignment 3, marketing presentation script, lab report!!! Arr that's what I dread the most and I'll have to submit 2 Lab reports which I have no idea how to write next week. Oh no!!! Wish my good luck. Haa..good night(",)

BUSY!

Today's quite a busy day for me. At least for a Saturday. Went for VPC Basic Photography Course. Jianqing taught us some important skills and I find the exposure part most interesting. Thanks for sharing some of the important tips and techniques in photography.

Met Guo Qi and we went for the NUSSU meeting at Function Room 1. They were talking about renting of the NUSSU van and revamp of YIH. Manage to grab a slice of pizza before we left. Had lunch with Sook Zhen, Xin Min and Chris. Was really hungry by then.

We then went for the Basic Videography Course conducted by Hitesh. Wow..it was really a lot of techniques we can use in movie/film production. I hope I'll remember them and put into good use:P.

Came back to PGP. Chat with Alex, Leo, Guo Qi, Anthony, Cheryl and Sarah.

Leo showed me his 'edited' blog. He said he deleted some post so I cant read them. Haha..must be complaining about how I bully him. Chat with Mr Eugene too. He showed me Dragon ball pictures. Haha..talked a bit about dragon ball..Hmm I still think his grin looks like Son Goku.

Anyway, I was lazy to buy dinner again. So decided to cook spaghetti instead. Taste quite nice. So proud of myself:D

Things to buy: FOOD!! - I'm running low in food supply, only left with biscuits and milo, Mouse - mine's proven to be faulty, so sad, Ironing Board - my bed's going to be super flat if I continue ironing on it, Pot / Pan - so I can cook more food instead of depending on the microwave alone. Must remember to get them after my tuition tomorrow:P

Biochem CA1

Just finished my biochem CA. Really tired. Had dinner with Gerard at YIH. What a bad timing to have test. Most of the food are already finish by the time we were there.

Biochemistry and Biomolecules paper wasn't that hard after all. Prof Too and Dr Deng gave the answers after the test and I realised I had a lot of careless mistake. Was aiming to score at least 18/20 but now the best I can manage is 16/20 thanks to my silly mistakes.

I should have read the questions properly and be more careful in my calculations.

Played a few rounds of games with Leo. Finally I manage to win him in one game!! Solitaire showdown was almost draw. But I still can't figure out how to win in hexic:S.

Hmm..I think I'll need a new mouse..my computer can't detect mine:S so sad

Happy Birthday!

Today's my younger sis birthday. So sorry I cant celebrate it with you. I wish I can.
Today's also my first assessment for biochemistry. I wonder how it will be like. Hope everything will turn out fine.

Woke up quite early today. Prepared breakfast and started studying. I would say today's one of the least exciting day ever. Study. Study. Study. Cooked lunch for myself. Don't feel like going out. Kelvin suggested we meet after my test today but my test ends at 7pm and by then it will be too late as he'll need to travel back to the east.

Daniel will book out tomorrow. Haha..he has to waste one day in camp as they having sports day tomorrow.

Hmm..nothing much to talk about. All the best for my biochem test:P haha..oh ya and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Fui Peng:D

How should I brand myself?

Attended marketing lecture today. I think the lecture was really interesting. Prof Ang taught us about positioning and branding our product. It really makes me think of all the different strategies companies have employed in order to maintain competitive in the market. Was with Yung during the lecture and the lecturer told us the RBR joke - Here's how it goes: Year 1 students are considered the red spot books, highly in demand and there's a limited borrowing time of 2 hours; Year 2 students are considered as the open shelf books, where still can borrow but less in demand; Year 3 students are considered as reference books, hardly anyone will look at it. Haha..just a joke anyway, don't take it too seriously.

Anyway, when we were talking about branding, Prof Ang showed u
s a few examples that I find quite interesting:

  1. Singapore spends $400,000 to rename Marina Bay... Marina Bay
  2. A cash prize of $2000 was given to one lucky person for coming up with the best name for our new budget terminal in Changi. And the name is: Budget Terminal
And I also found one interesting one as I was browsing the internet:
The Singapore Science Centre is rebranding itself as Science Centre, Singapore.

Oh well, this reminds me that I still have to think of a suitable brand
name for my assignment - deodorant!

Met Leo for lunch. While waiting for him to come from Science, had a short chat with Nadhirah regarding our archiving job. Haih..that's reminds me I have a lot of work yet to be done. Had dumpling noodles for lunch. Today's dumpling taste quite good:P

Came back to PGP. Challenged Leo to solve the rubik cube. Wow, he manage to finish it in less than 3 minutes. So sad. I lost the bet. He copied some songs from my computer (or practically everything) before leaving for his tuition lesson again. There's a high chance that he's going to be
late for lesson.

Rubik Cube!

I tried studying a bit more at night. Tomorrow's Fui Peng's birthday. Haha..she message me to wish her:P

Selamat Hari Raya!

Yay..today's another day off for me. It's Hari Raya Puasa as well as Children's Day. I can't really remember when was the last time I celebrated Children's Day or visited people on Hari Raya, maybe it's before I came to Singapore.

Talked to Mr Eugene today. He was trying to reinstall all the programme into his laptop. Haha..he reformatted his hard disk and all the files are gone because he wanted to change to Windows XP which is faster?. Anyway, he got frustrated having need to download all the softwares coupled by the slow connections. So he went offline very soon. Oh he was also looking for charger for his Nokia phone. The charger actually cost $28!!! So expensive. Luckily mine's still working fine.

Tried something new today. Cooked fish porridge for lunch. It didn't turn out very nice. Initially I put too little water so it turn our quite hard so I added more water to cook and it's actually OVERCOOKED with too much water. Doesn't taste very good but still edible. Will try again next time. Take note of the amount of water and duration. I cooked it for more than 20mins today.

Did some studying. Hopefully it's sufficient for the test on Friday. I really must get more practice questions to do.

Went for dinner with Michelle, my clustermate. Ordered ban mian from the stall in the old canteen. Someone accidentally took my noodle and the uncle had to cook again for me. So waited quite long. Oh I also met San Mei at the canteen so manage to return her friend's dress to her. Really thanks a lot for that.

Leo told me that from today the public transport fee will increase by 4cents and 10cents respectively for ezlink and cash payment. I realise I have not been keeping up with the happenings around Singapore and the world. Maybe it's time for me to get back to the newspaper again. Abandoned them since I finish teaching / started university.

Time to stock up the food in my room. I'm running out of things to cook.

Tuesday Day Out

Nope. Didnt go shopping or tour Singapore. Was just a day out from my small room in PGP.

Chat with Winnie and Ying Zheng in the morning and I realise 3/4 of the class actually skip school today. Really disappointing. But at least I know that Yz manage to meet the promotional criteria. He's a smart student with the potential to excel if he put his heart to it. Winnie didn't quite made it but there's still hope. She have yet to get back her chem overall marks. Wish her all the best. S31, you all really need to work harder.

Had lunch together with Jinfeng and Leo at Biz
Canteen. I had Chinese Mixed rice. It was not bad. Can consider that next time:P Leo was late coz he had something to do. So I met Jinfeng first. I was super unlucky. It started to rain just as I board the bus. Luckily, I alighted at the Business School and walk to the canteen instead. So there's shelter all the way:D

Leo joined us at about 12+ or 1pm. He was carrying super a lot of things. Like he just went shopping..haha..anyway after lunch we all went to Hon Sui Sen Memori
al Library. Studied a bit. Play a lot. Sleep too. Haha..how we manage to do all that? Jinfeng went down to book the meeting room. So we practically have the whole room to ourselves.

Went back to Biz canteen for dinner. Jinfeng didnt manage to get his favourite grilled fish with lemon. So he didnt have anything there. Leo bought dried Yong Tou Foo for me. That's the first time I eat dried beehoon and yong tou foo. But it was not bad la. Quite nice:P Like the se
aweed soup the most. Haha.

Took the shuttle bus to YIH then walk to MPSH 4. Jinfeng went to get his dinner (something from Old Chang Kee?) so walk to MPSH with Leo. Played a game with Bridge player. During midgame, Jinfeng asked me how I could win the game 64-0. Really tough but I manage to figure it out
in the end. Had a game with Jinfeng, lost to him 53-11 due to a stoner trap. I must remember this!! Played another few games with Leo. Lost all of them:S

Oh Anthony was teaching this girl from Arts and they were all telling him to teach her the basics first or he'll just scare her away. Haha..really funny.

It started to rain very heavily when I decide maybe it's time to go back so stayed longer in MPSH 4. Played Tic-Tac-Toe with Leo. Haha..manage to trick him
a few rounds but he trick me too.

Left MPSH at about 10pm. Still raining heavily and worse thing is, there's a lot of people at the bus stop. Luckily Ke Sin shared her umbrella with me so we manage to get o
n the bus and grab a seat. Was really lucky. Reach back PGP about 10.45pm. Shower. Online:D

Tomorrow's going to be another free day. But I think
I have to use it to revise.=(

Since I played so much othello today, some Othello boards picture I had from JC.

My initial - FS
