Universal Studios Singapore
It was a rather last minute decision to go there today. We just decided that the night before. Was contemplating between Science Centre or USS but decided to go to USS instead since they are currently having 20% discount.
We had our breakfast as Harbour Front Centre and took the monorail to Sentosa.
Started with Lights, Camera, Action! Hosted by Steven Spielberg at New York. It was a rather interesting special effects. We then head to Sci-Fi City. Started with Accelerator (which is something like the spinning cup in Sunway Lagoon but just more mild) to get us warmed up for the more exciting roller coaster, Battlestar Galactica. Decided to go for the Human ride, which is supposedly less intense. But after going for that, I didn’t dare to try Cylon.
Break for lunch at The Lost World, where we had spaghetti and chicken fingers.
Went for the Shrek 4-D Adventure and Donkey LIVE at Far Far Away. Very fun and entertaining. Went back to Ancient Egypt for Revenge of the Mummy. There was some attractions that we missed or didn’t dare to try
Maybe that gives us an excuse to go there again next time. Ha-ha.. Took many many photos. Super tiring but it was really fun
Lazy Sunday afternoon
Having spent the previous night watching tennis and Singapore General Elections results, I woke up rather late this morning.
Went to Clementi Mall with BC’s family for lunch and then head to Lot 1 to look for some furniture.
BC learn some cooking from his mum and helped to prepare dinner

December Holiday
This holiday was quite well spent. I really enjoyed myself.
4th December 2010 - R3 Dinner
Went to Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao at Holland Village for steamboat buffer treat by our profs. Yummy! Too bad I forgotten to take any photos.
6th December 2010 - A day @ SYC
8th - 10th December 2010 - Residential Leaders Camp
12th-18th December 2010 - Back to Malaysia
18th - 21st December 2010 - Back to Singapore
Daddy and Mummy came back with me to Sg this time. Brought them around to a few places. Rainy weather didn't help at all.
22nd December 2010 - STEP Chapter: Singapore meeting
Meeting with John to finalise the details for the Boys' Town Orientation. Had a cook together with Su, Kelly, and MJ before the meeting. Ended the day with delicious nasi lemak from Boon Lay.26th December 2010 - Christmas Party
Attended OOS Christmas Party. Didn't really eat much. Played some board games and Bobo said I'm the overall champion! Haha..conquered Australia and Asia in the last round.
29th December 2010 - STEP Gathering
A gathering for all SYC participants and to formally introduce the STEP Chapter: Singapore upcoming activities.
31st December 2010 - New Year's Eve
Spent time with Bobo. Didn't go anywhere for countdown. Just watch from TV. In fact, I think it's better than going there.

| Positive Attracts explores the belief that the optimism of our mental state of mind (4th Dimension) can effect a positive outcome of our physical state (3rd Dimension). The installation consists of the Artist's 9 favourite optimistic visionaries (Heroes) who have used their mental state to effect positive outcomes in their physical world. Inspired by songs such as "Rainbow Connection" and "Somewhere over the Rainbow", these Heroes incubate dreams and will "deposit positivity" to the public as they draw near to the Heroes. Famous quotes written at base of each Heroes will enable the public to guess who they are. |

| The installation explores the meaning of touch in life and art. The sentence, "Touch. Do Not Please The Work of Art" is applied on the long wall using phosphorescent paint. In the day, only the title of the work as a protrusion on the wall is visible and touchable. At night, stroboscope spotlights highlight the passage for an instant every 30 seconds. The words light up and passers-by, when touching, looking or just passing the artwork, will cast their silhouettes and shadows onto the installation, leaving behind an instant personal graffiti. |

| Animal Tree is a lamp pole that can be installed in any public space. The shed of the lamp is composed of 512 pieces of orange happy bears. The operation is simple; it offers shade during daytime and emits light at night. The Animal Tree promotes the idea that the future can rely on simplicity and emotions, rather than complex electrical circuits which require a lot of maintenance. Simply pay more attention to joyfulness as well as to aesthetics and technology. |

| My Public Garden is a luxurious glowing garden, a playful and festive park full of fanciful plants and enchanted flowers. A total of 29 giant plant-like light sculptures of 6 different varieties will make up the bouquets adorning the site.Marina Bay will be transformed into an imaginary landscape from an artist's sketchbook, where giant wild plants bloom in the darkness, glowing softly with an elegant luminosity. It is an enchanted forest, beckoning the public to enjoy an intimate stroll among the immense, alluring bouquets. The light sculptures are large artworks, the smallest being 3.5m tall & the largest at 11m, visible from far away, creating a beautiful landscape even from a distance, offering an interplay of perspectives. |

| Imagine the jellyfish deciding to leave our polluted oceans and having a refreshing dip in the clean waters of Marina Bay before escaping into the universe as 'reverse UFOs', thereby for one last time trying to entertain and challenge all of us to be more aware of the consequences of our extravagance. The artists created these interactive and imaginative light objects providing an opportunity for visitors to 'grab' the jellyfish's tentacles and keep them on Earth. |

| The crouching digital tigers combine ancient lantern making methods with cutting edge digital design and fabrication technology, bringing east and west together through tradition and innovation.The tigers are inspired by "zhezhi", a Chinese term for paper folding, more popularly known by its Japanese name "origami". In producing this artwork, traditional Chinese lantern makers in Sichuan province, where lantern making has been taking place for over 800 years, and local artisans were consulted. The Digital Origami Tigers are currently travelling the world as part of the World Wildlife Fund's Year of the Tiger campaign. |
