Visit to NUS Museum

Tuesday! Oh no. This marks the end of my 5 days of break. So sad. I want more holiday but have to get back to work. So I decided that I shall join Mun Lok and Ee Lin at the library to study. Meet them at about 12pm. Try to study enzymes and I realise there are a lot of things that I can just skip coz there's only 5 MCQs on it. Better to focus more on Membranes, Lipids and PCR and gel electrophoresis and transport. Wow..so much more to study.

We went to Engin to have our lunch. Had bake seafood pasta. Waa..I think I eating too much of seafood and pasta already. Haha..had quite a long lunch. Was there until about 2.30pm. Mun Lok have lecture at 4pm and he didn't feel like going back to PGP and go out again. So I suggested that we go to NUS Museum since they didn't want to study:P.

So off we went to NUS Museum to check out on the exhibits. They told me that the things there are the same since the last time they went. So yeap. We were just looking through and took some photographs.

There's a lot more photos but I'm too lazy to upload. Thank you very much for cheering me up. I was quite upset in the morning.

Yeap so after our trip to the museum, we went to walk walk around the Conservatory of Music. Waa..super nice. How I wish Science Fac will look like that. Hehe..dreaming:P Then it was almost 4pm so took A2 to go back to Science. Ee Lin went home. Mun Lok goes for lesson. So I decided to go back to PGP and sleep.

Was suppose to meet Jinfeng for dinner at about 5+pm but I only woke up like around 5.50pm? Haha..can't remember also. His phone ran out of battery so I message Leo instead since they are together. But the time I message them they were about to finish eating so I decided not to join them.

Continue my afternoon nap..Haha..super sleepy. Woke up at about 6.45pm when Jade called me to go for dinner. Yeap so we went down for dinner. Hehe..and the uncle is like super nice today. He charge me much cheaper than I usually pay. Only $2 for 3 dishes. So nice:P Usually it will be around $2.40 or $2.50.

Was still contemplating whether I should got for IGC and Jade told me to just go and have fun. Haha..yea so in the end I reach MPSH 4 at about 7.45pm. Didn't play othello today. We played some mining game and train game. Haih my train building skill is so bad. Always got block until cannot complete the route. So sad.

Oh here's how the mining card looks like. Haha..I was busy taking picture that I forgotten to put the card face down!! Everyone can see my card:S

Happy Deepavali

Happy Deepavali and Happy Holiday to all my friends!!

Today's super fun. Finally manage to cook nice pasta (ok maybe not that nice but at least nicer than all the other time). Asked Jade to come over and eat with me. But my clustermate was using the kitchen so we had to eat in my room - malay style. Haha..super funny. I made Carbonara for her. A bit too watery but still nice. Then we had orange for dessert. We wanted to eat ice-cream but then didn't buy. So just settle for fruits. I think the last time I had ice-cream was 3 weeks ago when they gave free ice-cream at central forum.

Studied a bit in the afternoon. Then when I was about to go out to meet my cousin. It started raining. Luckily there's shelter all the way until his house. Was there talking to him. He manage to get to the top class in his level. Congrats!! So happy for him. His friends came over to give him a surprise birthday party. Oh no! I felt so bad because I totally forgotten that his birthday is around the corner. Didn't get him anything. Since he'll most probably be spending most of the time with his friends, my aunt ask me if I want to go out. Then my cousin said that he will call his cousin to come accompany me. Haha..yea so in the end instead of meeting my cousin for dinner, I met my cousin's cousin. Hmm..counted as my cousin also la..haha..I only went out with him twice before this. The first time we went for lunch near his house and the other time was go for movie and shopping at Plaza Singapura.

He reach at about 6+pm. Then the first thing he sees me, he ask "How come didn't go dating today?" =S Haa..so bad. Read my blog and anyhow assume. Anyway I also tease him back why he so free, didn't accompany his girlfriend. We went out for dinner at about 7+pm. He treat me to Penang Seafood Hor Fun. Super expensive. One bowl's like $8.90 and there's not much seafood inside. He said next time don't go eat already. When we were eating he asked me if I learnt how to swim already. Haa..super embarassing coz I think it was 2 years ago I told him I'm going to learn but until now I still can't swim. He said next time can go over and play then he teach me. Then we went to walk walk. Hoping to get something for my cousin. He bring me to the phone shop. Haa..I told him I don't think I can afford to buy a phone for my cousin. Then he was like, "Who said buying for him? Buy for yourself la." Blek..I don't need to change my phone! Still in good working condition although sometimes it's jam and can't be on. But still looks good. Then we went to toy shop. Haha..ended up playing there and still didn't manage to buy anything. Finally, I decided to get him a story book since he like to read a lot. And since I didn't get anything for Mei Mei, he suggested we get her earrings. I also dunno why but he said she wanted to buy recently. Well, I guess he's closer to her than I am. So we went to chose. Bought a dolphin and butterfly and he said he give me the star one. Hehe..so I also got present:P

And as usual I said I sleepy already (I didn't have afternoon nap today!) Then he said I lazy. Never exercise that's why get so tired easily. Waa..so bad kept teasing me. Anyway, we went back to my cousin's house to play. My cousin's and his friends went out so we can use the TV to play Wii. Haha..so fun. Say I didn't exercise so I made him play all the different kind of sports with me. Played tennis, golf, bowling, shooting and many many more. Oh we played Super Mario too. Somehow not sleepy anymore.

We left my cousin's house at about 10pm. Took a bus back to NUS. Haa..have to walk past the back gate. Quite scary to walk at night. So I was like walking super fast hoping to get back to my room asap. Haha..Mr Tan messaged me. This was what he said:
'Mr Tan is concerned that a student of his always falls asleep when working on an assignment. He fells that there is a need for closer monitoring of the student's progress. Student by the name of Chin Fui San is to be detained in a library of her choice for a minimum of three hours, without the possibility of posting bail.'
For a moment I thought he sent the message to the wrong person. Then when I read the last sentence I was shocked. Anyhow give me detention:S

That's all for today.

'It would be selfish to feel sad or negative about my problems. I just have to be very appreciative of everything I have been given.'

Hot drinks promote warm feelings

If you want someone to warm to you give them a steaming hot drink, say US researchers.

People are more likely to judge strangers as welcoming and trustworthy when they are holding a hot cup of coffee, experiments show.

Volunteers rated people as 11% "warmer" after holding a hot drink than after holding a cold drink, the study in Science reports.

The warmth of a drink also influenced how selfish participants were.

In one test 41 volunteers were tricked into holding a drink while they were being taken from the lobby to the laboratory.

They were then asked to read about a fictional character and rate how cold or warm they found them on a scale of one to seven.

Those who had held the hot drink were significantly more likely to rate the character as a warm person.

But the warmth of the drink had no impact on how the participants judged other personality traits.

Selfishness

In a second study, 53 people were asked to hold heated or frozen therapeutic pads believing they were evaluating a medical product.

Once they had completed a questionnaire about the pads they were offered a choice of a drink for themselves or a voucher they could give to a friend.

Those primed with coldness were more likely to choose a gift for themselves, while those primed with warmth were more likely to choose the gift for a friend.

It is not the first time temperature has been linked with emotion - a recent study found that people who were lonely reported feeling colder.

The researchers said the findings suggests that saying that someone is warm is not just a simple metaphor but a literal description of emotions such as trust, first experienced between mother and child during infancy.

"When we ask whether someone is a warm person or cold person, they both have a temperature of 98.6 [Farenheit, 37 Celsius]," said psychology Professor John Bargh from Yale University.

"These terms implicitly tap into the primitive experience of what it means to be warm and cold."

He added that the power of temperature on character assessments has been backed up by recent brain imaging studies.

"Physical warmth can make us see others as warmer people, but also cause us to be warmer, more generous and trusting as well," he said.

Dr Simon Moore, lecturer in psychology at London Metropolitan University said similar results had been shown in other types of experiments.

For example people asked to memorise a list of words will rate the experience more positively if they are given "warm" words.

"It's basic conditioning - warm sensations are nicer than cold sensations and if you feel something nice you transpose it on to something else."

He added: "It would be interesting to test someone's personality first - I would think the more suggestible they are the greater the effect of the warm cup or cold cup."

UK research done for the National Lottery has found that friendships may be the key to happiness.

People with at least 10 close friends are likely to be happier than those with fewer than five.

It's SUNDAY!

It's Sunday again!Have to wake up early for tuition. Left PGP around 8.30am and reach Pasir Ris at 10am. Did a lot of questions with Amos. Haha..I think this is the most productive session. But I still can answer 2 of the questions. And it is actually from my A-Level Paper last year:S So sad. I remember I was super happy after my paper last year coz I can do all the questions. But somehow I just dunno how to start that question.Hmm..

Finish tuition around 1.30pm. Had lunch at White Sands then went to Vivocity to meet my cousin. Shop shop till about 4++pm then came back to PGP. Jinfeng came over after his project meeting. Ate dinner with him at the old canteen. Finish eating around 7.15pm. Grab my notes and water bottle then meet Alex.

Got lost on the way to and fro West Coast Park. I have no idea where it is. Haven't been there before so I can't help much. After making a few turns finally we get to find the place. Walked around the park. So sad got no swing or see-saw for me to play:S Then the things I want to play got kids playing with it. Didn't get to play anything in the end. Just walk walk around the park. And there's no beach there. Just one big patch of sand in the middle. Then there was this group of foreign workers sitting at the grass patch so we decided to turn back. Went over to MacDonalds instead to study. Read 2 chapters of my biochem test for Friday. Still got 2 more to go (or is it 4..haha..i also not sure what is coming out) so must study more tomorrow. Hopefully can finish the first round tomorrow. Luckily it's a public holiday. So happy..

Reach back around 10+pm. Chat online and read emails. Haha..got super a lot of mails.

Archiving

Had to wake up early and finish my lab report then submit before 12pm. So around 11+ I went to school to print the report and submit it. Checked my CA results from the notice board too and realise that I'm just average again. So sad. When will I be able to score well. I really have to work extra hard.

Had lunch with Leo in Science. He was having a terrible cold. Had chicken rice and he so bad lor. Charge me $5 for the chicken rice..haha..don't care next time he treat me:P Met Nadhirah at YIH around 1pm. Then Guo Qi message said that he's still in Engineering. So we went over to Engin and look for him. Wow..engin's really big. So easy to get lost. Anyway we manage to find LT6 and got the keys from him.

Went back to YIH and we took the wrong bus. Took bus D instead so we took one loop to Science before reaching YIH. The NUSSU Secretariat door was lock. So we had to knock so that someone will open for us. Luckily there's one guy going out so he opened the door for us.

Switched on the computer and realise we forgotten to ask what is the password to the computer. Haih..so had to call Guo Qi again. Then he told me that he haven't install Nero to burn the DVDs. So we decided to arrange the photographs and videos into folders making it easier to burn. Also, we copied all the photos and videos from the cameras. And that took us like super long plus a bit of editing also.

Guo Qi came over at about 3+ to help us install Nero. So we can start burning the files into the DVDs. Wow..super long. We were like rotting there. So find a lot of things to entertain ourselves. Haha..I tried to mess up the Rubik's cube for Nadhirah to solve and wow..She manage to solve it. Then we watch a short interview about shopaholic.

Finish archiving at about 5+ then went to Engin to meet Guo Qi to pass him the keys. Came back to PGP and had my dinner. Super hungry already. Didn't do much since I came back.

Should I apply?

I've got the letter from ICA asking me to apply for Permanent Resident. I'm not sure whether I should apply or not since my school fees are now paid for. Anyway, daddy told me to scan the letter for him so he could have a look at it. Mummy was telling me I should go ahead and apply. Anyway I don't think I'll be able to submit the form this year coz they need parent's signature. So have to wait till I get back to Malaysia. And that reminds me I better go check out the tickets for me to go back end of the year. I don't want to end up no place to stay and I really miss home so don't want to miss the chance to go back.

Oh and I manage to find this in one of the folder while saving the scanned documents!!I guess now I know why Winnie the Pooh is yellow. Haha..it don't look good in blue. No matter what I still thinks it's cute:P

I'm so sorry my dear friends..

I'm so sorry if I had ignored you the past few days or made it seems that I'm not interested in the conversations. I really didn't mean to do that. I was quite busy this week and I'm glad that it's finally coming to an end. Sorry my dear students, I really wanted to help you all but I can hardly help myself. I will try my best but that's the best I can do. I hope you all understand. Sorry my friends, I didn't mean to make you feel sad. I'm sorry if I had made you all angry with me. I should have explained it properly.

Anyway, I'm so glad that our Organic Chem Test is finally over. But it also prove to me that I have lots of catching up to do before the finals. The test wasn't that hard but because they used short forms in the question and I have no idea that that stands for. Anyone got any idea what is MeOH? I think it was quite unfair because they have 2 versions of the paper and in version 2, the reagent is Ac. They actually told them what Ac is but didn't mention anything about Me. Yeap so that was like 20marks gone.

Rush over for marketing lecture. Was late for lecture so didn't manage to find where Yung and the rest was seated. Just grab a seat and listen to the lecturer. And it was such a coincidence. I sat just right in front of her. :P Had lunch at Biz canteen. Then Ee Lin and Mun Lok asked me to go Clementi with them. Yeap so they bring me to the Town Centre which I have not been there before. I realise that there's a lot of shops there. So maybe next time I can continue to explore coz we came back around 3+. Ee Lin had to attend meeting in school.

Okay so I shall update on what happened the past few days.

Tuesday (21/10/08)
Today's my Daddy's Birthday! Wished him early in the morning. So happy. Anyway I was also quite rush in the morning coz I'll need to submit my marketing assignment during tutorial later and still doing some final editing. Studied a bit of Organic Chem then printed my notes for Genetics and Biochem.

Joyce messaged me around 3.30pm. She told me that iPhone do not offer a service because a service is something that is intangible therefore the applications and features in the phone are not considered a service. She also messaged her tutor to asked about the question. I was quite unsure at that time because I didn't really define what service is. Anyway, my lesson is at 4pm so I didn't really have time to edit my answer. When I was waiting for the bus, her tutor replied her and said that the services offered are like warranty and repair. I was totally shock coz to me, those services are not offered by iPhone but rather offered by Apple or the people in the company or the retailers.

So I was hoping Ms Canley will tell us what the answer would be like. But because there wasn't much time after the groups presentation. She said she'll discuss them during our last tutorial session. Yeap, so I'm still unsure of what the answer should be.

Met Jinfeng at Biz Canteen. He recommended me to try the Ipoh Hor Fun there. It was a little spicy but still can take it. Went for othello training. There was also the interview for EXCO members. Played a game with Ke Sin. After the game I decided that I should continue to study for my chem test. There's really a lot for me to read up. Left at around 9.45pm. Alex gave me a lift home again. So didn't need to wait for bus. Reach back around 10pm. Wasn't feeling very well. Got tummy ache. Not sure why. Went to lie on the bed and fell asleep quite soon. Woke up at around 2+am and decided that I should continue sleeping. Switch off the computer and lights and slept.

Wednesday (22/10/08)
Woke up very early in the morning. Luckily is early and not late coz I didn't set alarm. Pack my stuff and go for practical. Tummy's still a bit pain but it's better than the night before. Practical session was quite okay. The TA was quite nice. She helped me a lot. But there's another TA that like to bully me. Always tell me the wrong thing then laugh at me when I believe him:S Purposely make me confuse. The chromatography was horrible. I had to repeat for so many times before my TA tell me to just continue although it's not really accurate coz I'm running out of time. She helped me with vacuum filtration. It was quite hard coz we need to stir the residue to make sure complete washing without poking a hole in the filter paper. Yeap so she helped me wash my compounds. Ee Lin wasn't that lucky though. There's a hole in her filter paper and the compounds cannot dry completely. Anyway drying is not really important in this practical coz we'll need to recrystallise in the following session.

Had lunch with Ee Lin and Shawn in Science then we went over to Central Forum. Just got to know Shawn. He's in Chemical Engineering and was Ee Lin's classmate in secondary school. One thing very funny is that he enjoyed eating. As we were walking past the corridor, there's people selling Peach tarts and he bought a few. He said he was dreaming to eat something 'Peachy' the night before so since he encounter Peach tarts, he have to get them.

Went back to Science for lesson. It was raining so heavily and we were caught in the rain but manage to get to the LT. Dr Swami's lecture is always full of stories and jokes so this week, he told us two jokes. Hmm..maybe you might have heard it before. I did before the lecture.

Joke #1
There was 3 countrymen who went to the pub. They were boasting who's country people are better. Countrymen #1- In my country, the people can build skyscrapers at high as the sky. The other guys were like - Wow, as high as the sky? Countrymen #1: Oh no. Slightly lower. Then it was Countrymen #2's turn - In my country, people can build submarines that can go as deep as the sea. The other guys were surprise too- Wow, as deep as the sea? Countrymen #2: Oh no. Slightly above. They then turn to Countrymen #3. Countrymen #3- In my country, people can eat with their nose. The other 2 guys was shocked - Wow, eating with the nose. Countrymen #3: Oh no. Slightly lower. =D

Joke #2 (also involving 3 countrymen)
So again they were in the pub and trying to compare who's richer. Countrymen #1 took out a cigarette and lit it up using a $100 note. Countrymen #2 not wanting to lose, took out a $1000 note and lit his cigarette with it. They then turn over to Countrymen #3. He took our his cheque book, wrote $1,000,000 on it and lit his cigarette with it.

Dr Chew started his first lecture on Mendelian Genetics. Very interesting. He told us a lot of stories behind what we observe. How our genotype plays a role in determining what we look like and what we see. But it was really a long day and I was starting to fall asleep. Must really revise on what he taught.

Gerard gave me a lift back to PGP and we had dinner in the canteen with Andrew and Michelle. Went online and chat with my friends. Jinfeng also told me the reason why he asked if I was comfortable with people I'm not very close with touching me. Yea of course I'm not. I mean I wouldn't mind if it's my friends but not for someone whom I hardly even talk to.

Continue to study for Organic Chem test. Wanted to get something to munch so I won't fall asleep. But someone ate my apple in the fridge!!! So just took some biscuits. But I still slept earlier than usual.

Thank you my dear friends for always being there to support me to encourage me and to cheer me up when I'm sad. Love ya all.

Tiring Monday

Went for lecture as usual. But this time was a bit different. I didn't have a good sleep last night. Was rushing my marketing assignment that I forgotten to do my Chemistry tutorial. So had to stay up till late at night to finish both the tutorial - mass and small group.

Had lunch with my friends again at the Science canteen. No time to travel to another canteen plus we are too lazy to do so. There's a lot of people at the canteen at that time so we were lucky enough to get a place. 5 of us squeeze in the 4-seater table.

Tried to study a bit at the Science Library before going for lesson. But there's only 15 mins for us. So we decided to discuss about the tutorial instead. Went to class. Everyone was already there. Questions were already assigned for them to present. So the 4 of us (Gerard, Iris, ZhiSheng and me) just sit at the corner and discuss among ourselves. Quite sad rite.

Haha..went for practical again. Since we were still early, we were to central forum to see what they have there. Decided there's nothing much so we made our way to S1A instead. There's really lack of study area there. We could hardly find any place for us to sit down and study. We went from level 2 till level 7:S

Practical class was fun but our TA wasn't talking much again as usual. And Dr. Chew actually told him to speak louder and clearer since he can't even hear anything. Today's lesson is on plants where we are suppose to calculate the number of plants with a certain phenotype. Guess who's in my group - haha..my lab partner's not in the same group as me. So sad. The TA so bad. So there's me, Cipto, Debra and the girl which ignore me!!! I haven't get to know what her name is yet. Maybe next week I'll go ask her. She's much nicer today. She actually start the conversation with me. So not bad not bad. Our practical ended early. We finish all the experiments by 4.20pm. But our TA refuse to let us leave the lab. He said there's no one else leaving yet. So we had to sit there and wait and wait. At about 4.45pm we asked him again and he still say no. We decided that we shall start packing our things first so when he say we may leave we can go out of the lab straight. We were quite bored there so since my friend brought her camera to school, we decided to take photos. Haha..I think we actually made too much noise that the TA next to our bench ask us to lower the volume:P Went to walk around the lab see what they have. Then we decided that we should go to the toilet. At least no need to sit in the lab and do nothing. We asked Dr. Chew if we could leave after completing our assignment. He said yes provided our TA finish discussing all the questions. So since our TA do not intend to discuss anything and we got nothing to ask him. We told him to let us off. Cipto even tried to convince him in Chinese. Haha..super funny. Finally he went to check with Dr. Chew. Haa..after so long. Then when he came back, we thought he's going to say we may leave. But he still insist on waiting for the other groups to leave first then we can leave. When the other group started packing, we wanted to go out of the lab and he stop us:S He say after they go out then we can go. So unfair!!!

So by the time, we manage to get out of the lab, there's like so many people waiting for the lift already. We walked down the stairs to the bus stop. Met Leo at PGP. He plan to help me on my marketing assignment. Had dinner at PGP canteen - vegetarian food. Tried to study for my chemistry test and I ended up watching tv and chatting. Haa..I think I really cannot sit in front of the computer. Haha..so he used my computer to do some research on the game console and draw Winnie the pooh. Let me see if I can find the picture. Maybe can post it up next time. Leo said that he's keeping track of how many people I'll chat with everyday. Haha..I also didn't realise I chat with so many people. Let me recall who they were:
Kelvin, Zi Yang, Jinfeng, Alex, EeLin, Joyce, Anthony, Hung Yang, Andrew, Michelle, Daniel, Mr Eugene and Leo. Haha..I think that's all right:P

So yeah! That's all I did. Quite a long day for me. Luckily my lesson on Tuesday's quite late and Tuesday's my daddy's BIRTHDAY!!!

Marketing Assignment::S

Met Jade early in the morning to go to Pasir Ris with me. She'll be meeting her secondary school friends there and as for me, I'm going for tuition. We were still early when we reached the MRT station so we decided to go and walk around at White Sands. Most of the shops are still close so went to FairPrice instead.

Finish my tuition at 12pm. Had lunch with Mr Eugene at the food court there. I had clay pot noodles:P Chat for quite some time. Haha..we were talking about PW and how he told his students not to do survey. So cheating. That reminds me of the amount of work we did for our PW. Haa..feel so sad thinking about it. Anyway, I think I was a good experience. Although many people thinks that it is a waste of time, to me it is really a good experience to go out and see how many projects are done at a lower level. Going on the street to interview the shop owners, passing out survey to passer-by, collating the data, I really learn a lot from it.

After lunch, I wanted to go to the library to complete my marketing assignment but the library in Pasir Ris was super packed. Went over to Tampines Regional Library instead but it was equally bad. I think it's exam season and everyone is there studying for O Level and A Level. Manage to find a seat but there's no power plug so after about 1 hour plus my laptop ran out of battery.

Had dinner at Century Square before heading back to PGP to complete my assignment. Hopefully I'll be able to finish everything before I sleep. I've yet to study for my test on Thursday and I really need the time to do so. Can't waste so much time on this assignment.

PAIN...

Woke up super early this morning coz i want to do my laundry. Don't want to wait until late at night. Finish doing all my laundry by 9.30am. Had cereal for breakfast and started to do my marketing assignment. Manage to complete the technical parts before lunch.

Had lunch with Michelle at
PGP. We went for almost 1 hour. Haha..really can slowly enjoy our food and chat at the same time. Came back at about 1 plus. Folded all my laundry, chat and slept till about 3pm.

Highlight for today's the dinner. Before meeting Joyce for dinner, went over to
Auntie Rita's house to collect something. And Ryan's like busy playing his computer. So bad. Just ignore me. Haha..but manage to get his attention in the end. Had dinner at 85. We ordered a lot of food..hehe..got minced meat noodles, rojak, drinks and also ais kacang for dessert. Super full. We ate for almost 2+ hours, from 6.30pm till about 9pm.

Took bus 30 back to PGP and passed by a lot of food centre. We decided to eat at Old Airport Road after our finals. Yummy. Can't wait for that.

Went to shower and I was super unlucky. Hit against the bench in the toilet and hurt myself. Ouch. So pain :'( Bleeding some more. Okie I don't feel like typing already. Pain Pain Pain....

The PCR Song

The PCR Song

There was a time when to amplify DNA,

You had to grow tons and tons of tiny cells.

Then along came a guy named Dr. Kary Mullis,
Said you can amplify in vitro just as well.

Just mix your template with a buffer and some primers,
Nucleotides and polymerases, too.

Denaturing, annealing, and extending.
Well it’s amazing what heating and cooling and heating will do.

PCR, when you need to detect mutations.
PCR, when you need to recombine.
PCR, when you need to find out who the daddy is.
PCR, when you need to solve a crime.

(repeat chorus)

Haha..this was the song they showed us during our practical session today. So fun..nothing really special happened today. Met my uncle this morning to go and sign the MOE tuition grant. And I forgotten to bring my passport!! Arrgh..luckily the MOE officer was nice and she allow my uncle to sign the tuition grant first. She told me to look for her with my passport and student pass later. My uncle signed the agreement and I rush for my practical session. Haa.. and I'm late!! Luckily I only miss a short briefing by the professor.

Start to do our experiment. And it's gel electrophoresis again! Something that I'm quite familiar with. Nothing really special happen. Just that we have a lot of time to talk talk in the lab. Haha..have to wait for the gel to solidify, digest the DNA and run the gel. Took the gel electrophoresis photo, rush off to PGP after briefing by Michelle.

Reach MPSH at about 2+ pm. The officer was like "Haa so late. I thought you forgotten already" Haha..how can I forget:P She was very friendly. Was chatting with her for quite some time. And that also means that I took very long to sign the agreement. The other tables was like come and go and I'm still there. Haha..a bit wasting others' time.

Anyway, went back to PGP after that. Took a nap. Bryan message me at 5pm to ask me go for dinner. Waa..anyhow disturb my sleep. Haa..went out at around 5.30pm after sleeping for awhile more. Reach school like about 5.50pm. Waa..super rush for dinner again. So bad for digestion lor, always make me eat so fast.

Attended Biochem tutorial. And he was teaching us about how to mass produce protein. Reached back PGP around 7pm. Haha. Gerard gave me a lift again. So nice rite. Don't need to take the shuttle bus for the whole week.

God's Pharmacy

It's been said that God first separated the salt water from the fresh, made dry land, planted a garden, made animals and fish... all before making a human. He made and provided what we'd need before we were born. These are best & more powerful when eaten raw. We're such slow learners...

God left us a great clue as to what foods help what part of our body!

God's Pharmacy! Amazing!

A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye...and YES, science now shows carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.

A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart has four chambers and is red. All of the research shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and are indeed pure heart and blood food.

Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.

A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts help develop more than three (3) dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.

Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.

Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and many more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet, the body pulls it from the bones, thus making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.

Avocadoes, Eggplant and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents c e rvical cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly nine (9) months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).

Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm as well to overcome male sterility.

Sweet Potatoes
look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.

Olives
assist the health and function of the ovaries

Oranges, Grapefruits
, and other Citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.

Onions
look like the body's cells. Today's research shows onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells. The y even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes. A working companion, Garlic, also helps eliminate waste materials and dangerous free radicals from the body.

Genetics CA2

Yay..one test down..Haha..Gerard gave me a lift home again and that means I didn't need to waste time waiting for the bus. Today's test was quite alright. There was really just 2 questions no different parts. But the only thing is that the question he asked don't really have an exact answer. So in the end I drew picture to answer it. Haha..hopefully can get some marks there.

Anyway, I went to school at around 12.30pm to meet Ee Lin and Mun Lok at Science Library. Printed my lab report and lecture notes for the day. They accompanied me to submit my lab report then we
went for lunch at around 1.40pm. They already had their lunch so it was just me eating there. And I have to rush to finish my lunch. Wow..it was really record breaking. Haha..I manage to finish eating at about 1.58pm. Just nice to go for lecture which starts at 2pm. Phew..haa..can't believe how fast I ate.

Today's Biochem lecture's taught by Dr. Swami. We were basically lea
rning on DNA and that's what we actually learn for Genetics. Haa..so confusing. Biochem lesson learning Genetics stuff. Anyway he inserted a few stories in between the lecture. So it was quite entertaining. Plus I just had my lunch, a bit sleepy:P

Story No. 1

There was this group of marketers who went to Saudi Arabia to publicise a new detergent brand. There were a group of top marketers who's
confident that they will be able to boast the sales by the end of the month. So they set up all the advertisements and waited. One month past, 0 sales. Two months past, 0 sales. Three months past, 0 sales. They got a bit worried and went to check the marketing billboards and advertisement. There seems to be fine. Picture 1 showing a dirty shirt, Picture 2 showing someone soaking the shirt into the detergent and Picture 3 shows a clean white shirt. However, they didn't realise one thing, people in Saudi Arabia read from right to left!! So they actually got the wrong message:D
Moral of the story: Understand the culture of the people.

Story No.2

There was a small kitten who's walking around the
park and she met a dog. The dog barks "woof" and the kitten was scared. She ran back to the mother and told her about the dog. The mother cat told the kitten to bring her there and show her the dog. When the dog saw them, the dog barks again "woof". The mother cat respond by "woof", the dog got scared and ran away.
Moral of the story: It is important to know a second language.

After that lecture we went over for our next lecture. Genetics:S Haa..I'm already half asleep by then. Today's lecture is about RNA modification which is more on proteins and that's what we already learn in Biochem. Wow..today's lessons are super confusing. And Dr He hardly speaks into the mic so half the time I can hardly catch what he is trying to say. He ended the lecture at about 5.50pm. Gave us a short 10 minutes break and off we go to start our test. He went through the answers at the end of the test. Not sure how I did. But I think should be okay if he do give me marks for my drawing:P

Had dinner with Gerard and Mun Lok. At Science canteen again. Haha..but this time I get to eat as slow as I want to:P No hurry. Haha..then we start talking about the fun we had in campfire. Really miss those days where we built our gadget and attend campfires.

Bizcom Bazaar

Alright, it's tuesday again. My free day! Haha..always look forward to it. But this week...i've got to do coverage for the Bizcom Bazaar. Met Guo Qi again in the morning to get the key and time table. Went to YIH at around 12.30pm, collect the equipments..haha..i look like going to market..carrying one big bag of camera, one small videocam and one tripod. Luckily there isn't many people on the bus, manage to get a sit but just for one stop though. Haha..reach central forum at 1pm. Was super rush coz according to the time table the event starts at 1pm and I haven't even set up the things. Made my way to the stage area and set up the tripod. Waited for Nadhirah to join me. She had marketing presentation before that. We waited for quite long and finally they fixed the mic at around 1.30pm. Make me rush all the way for nothing. So angry!!..I took the videographer job..haa super boring. Ask us to film some talk on wine appreciation and pasta quiz. And the person was like walking all over the stage. So hard to film la..plus I was almost going to fall asleep. Haha..I think some part of the video cant see the person coz he walk too much and some people was walking in front of the camera blocking them. Oh oh and there was this guy who actually stand right in front of my camera to talk to his friend. So irritating:S

Anyway, we finish at 2pm. Didnt bother to wait for the next event. I'm super hungry already. Went back to YIH to put down the camera and grab my bag. Ate at the canteen there then went to Science Library to print my lab report. But the was some error and I cant fix it so came back to PGP to edit my file. Decided to print it tomorrow instead since Dr He havent upload his lecture notes as usual and I will still need to make my way there again.

Study for my genetics test tomorrow. Hopefully I'm ready for it. Need to try and score full marks. Have to make up for the last test. Took my afternoon nap at around 4+pm..Haha..not sure when I fell asleep also. Woke up and saw it's already 6pm. Message Jinfeng to tell him I'll be late for IGC today. And I dunno why somehow I fell asleep again. Woke up at 7pm. Went to buy dinner, shower and make my way to YIH again.

Met the NUSSU president on the bus. He was rushing for Exco meeting. I went to collect the equipments for tomorrow's coverage and then join them at MPSH 4. Played Othello till around 10pm. Alex drop me at PGP. Suppose to reach in like less than 10 mins but because he dont know the way, he took the wrong turn. Haha..sorry I should have warn u earlier:P Anyway thanks. Hehe..at least I dont have to wait for the bus which comes like every 30mins:S Played with the mini othello set on his car. Haha..so cool.

Anyway, yeap so my day off is kind of wasted. Didnt manage to do much. Have to get back to my revision. All the best to me tomorrow. Have to work hard. Haha..luckily the test is at 6pm and my first lesson is at 2pm. Can sleep longer:P.

My new TA...

Just came back from school and the fire alarm starts ringing.. Haih..make me walk 4 storeys down and 4 storeys up..and as we were walking down, there's like so many people staring at our block. Then we realise that it's only our block where the alarm is triggered! Anyway, it stopped quite soon and here I am back in my room.

Haha..we had genetics practical again today and most of the things we do, I have already done them during my attachment at TLL. So it's a bit boring. And what's worse, our new TA hardly speaks more than 20 words!!! I certainly miss our previous TA. Anyway, our practical is on
Drosophila Melanogaster and we are suppose to look at the appearance and distinguish the sex of the flies. Very boring.

Besides our usual practical, we were asked to be test subject for a research paper. So we need to provide DNA samples. We were given salt solution and we are suppose to gargle it to obtain cells. After that, they did a skin prick test for allergies. Arr..super itchy. They applied histamine, and some dust mites sample solution on our hand and measure the diameter of the red spot. Oh and we need parental consent for that since most of us are under 21, so we asked Bryan to help be our guardian. Haha..super funny. Quote "Grace: Thanks daddy!"

Started the day by going to YIH early in the morning to collect the tripod for today's Bizcom Bazaar coverage then went to Science Library to print my lecture notes then attended Chem Lecture then rush over to central forum for the coverage. And when I was there, they told me that the performance only starts at 1pm. Super angry lorr. Make me rush all the way there and have to waste 1 hour waiting. Anyway, Guoqi came and took over the coverage from me. Hehe..thanks..thanks..so I went back to Science to have lunch with my usual group of friends. VERY hungry.

Finish my lunch at around 2+pm. Then we went to look for LS Lab 1. Manage to find out that it is actually at S1A. So took a bus there. Haha..I know, it's super near but I'm just lazy to walk. Sat outside the lab till 3pm.

Had dinner in Science canteen again. Haha..Zhisheng and I regretted for coming back to Science. We could have took the bus to another canteen. Met Gerard at the canteen. He gave me a lift home after our dinner. Super tiring day. And I realise I have to do the coverage for tomorrow's event again. All because of the wrong timing given by the Bizcom people.

Alright, I should get back to work now. :P
