Nope. Didnt go shopping or tour Singapore. Was just a day out from my small room in PGP.

Chat with Winnie and Ying Zheng in the morning and I realise 3/4 of the class actually skip school today. Really disappointing. But at least I know that Yz manage to meet the promotional criteria. He's a smart student with the potential to excel if he put his heart to it. Winnie didn't quite made it but there's still hope. She have yet to get back her chem overall marks. Wish her all the best. S31, you all really need to work harder.

Had lunch together with Jinfeng and Leo at Biz Canteen. I had Chinese Mixed rice. It was not bad. Can consider that next time:P Leo was late coz he had something to do. So I met Jinfeng first. I was super unlucky. It started to rain just as I board the bus. Luckily, I alighted at the Business School and walk to the canteen instead. So there's shelter all the way:D

Leo joined us at about 12+ or 1pm. He was carrying super a lot of things. Like he just went shopping..haha..anyway after lunch we all went to Hon Sui Sen Memorial Library. Studied a bit. Play a lot. Sleep too. Haha..how we manage to do all that? Jinfeng went down to book the meeting room. So we practically have the whole room to ourselves.

Went back to Biz canteen for dinner. Jinfeng didnt manage to get his favourite grilled fish with lemon. So he didnt have anything there. Leo bought dried Yong Tou Foo for me. That's the first time I eat dried beehoon and yong tou foo. But it was not bad la. Quite nice:P Like the seaweed soup the most. Haha.

Took the shuttle bus to YIH then walk to MPSH 4. Jinfeng went to get his dinner (something from Old Chang Kee?) so walk to MPSH with Leo. Played a game with Bridge player. During midgame, Jinfeng asked me how I could win the game 64-0. Really tough but I manage to figure it out in the end. Had a game with Jinfeng, lost to him 53-11 due to a stoner trap. I must remember this!! Played another few games with Leo. Lost all of them:S

Oh Anthony was teaching this girl from Arts and they were all telling him to teach her the basics first or he'll just scare her away. Haha..really funny.

It started to rain very heavily when I decide maybe it's time to go back so stayed longer in MPSH 4. Played Tic-Tac-Toe with Leo. Haha..manage to trick him a few rounds but he trick me too.

Left MPSH at about 10pm. Still raining heavily and worse thing is, there's a lot of people at the bus stop. Luckily Ke Sin shared her umbrella with me so we manage to get on the bus and grab a seat. Was really lucky. Reach back PGP about 10.45pm. Shower. Online:D

Tomorrow's going to be another free day. But I think I have to use it to revise.=(

First and only lesson of the day - Organic Chemistry. Although most of the things taught seems to be from the A level syllabus, there's a lot that need further reading and explanation. We studied about benzene today. The ring structure that we used to draw is no longer considered the best structure here in uni. They prefer the double bond alkene like structure (or the kekule structure?). Can't really remember. Anyway, I think I have to revise all the mechanisms again. Some are really confusing.

Had lunch together with Gerard, Zhi Sheng, and Iris. We decided to go for western food. The queues at other stalls are just too long. Oh yes, throughout lunch we were talking about the F1 race last night. Haha..really exciting race. Gerard also told us about the accident he had before the recess week. Luckily it wasn't a bad accident. After lunch, went to YIH to meet Kim Hung to collect the photographs for archiving but the VPC room was lock so I have to come back and transfer the photos in PGP.

Yes. I finally get to watch F1 race. Nope. Not on the live circuit. Just on television. I haven't really got the chance to watch F1 races since I came to Singapore. It was really an exciting race especially when Massa was leading the race when Piquet crashes bringing the safety car. What was worse than losing the lead? Pit problem. Massa drove off with the fuel hose still attached to his car thus resulting in him having need to stop at the end of the pit lane for the mechanics to remove the hose. He really lost a lot of time there. Kimi was queuing behind Massa so he lost a bit of time there too. It was really a disastrous race for Ferrari. And what made it worse was Kimi crashing out with 5 more laps to go. So disappointing. Anyway, Alonso won the race eventually. He benefited from the safety car incident having pitted before his teammate crash.

I had lunch at Jade's place. She cooked noodles for me:P so nice. Then went over to her room and pack some stuff. Came back to collect my laundry and did some studying. I wonder why time flies when I most enjoyed it. Cooked porridge for dinner and watch F1. Called my mum after that.

Yeap. I attended the event under VPC. Went out to meet Guo Qi at YIH. He practically camp there most of the time.Chris had a test till about 5.45pm. So we took a bus to Clementi and met him there. The bus journey to Orchard Hotel wasn't as long as I expected. Only about 30mins if I'm not wrong. But anyway we were a bit late. Sook Zhen and David are already there.

We went on to register and realise that they actually didn't allocate a table for us (so sad). But anyway we manage to find a seat for the 5 of us. Dilesh our photographer was there too. Really enthu. He was there even before we reach. Well done.

Ate. Took photographs. Chat. There were prize presentation, the highlight of the day, in between our meal. SAVE and PRU also performed a song. Oh they actually served the wrong dish yesterday. It was suppose to be a dish for the next door's function (if my guess is correct) but the accidentally serve it to us. And the 3 of us had a prawn each. Taste good:P.

Yeap we were hanging around after the dinner. Taking photos and getting to know the new committee. Get to know the new NUSSU president as well. He's actually interested in photography too.

Left Orchard hotel at about 11.30pm. Waited for the bus 143 until midnight before we decided that we actually missed the last bus so we had better take another bus to Buona Vista. Took 105 instead. Reach Buona Vista at about 12.40am. We realise that there's no more bus for us to go back to PGP so we decided to walk. Quite tiring to walk in heels and the night breeze was so cold. Eventually we manage to reach PGP at about 1.20pm. Super tiring. Lucky there's Guo Qi and Chris to walk along, if not it'll be a never ending journey to walk alone. Went back to the room. Rest. Shower. Sleep.

How I spent my mid semester break? my initial plan was to catch up with all my studies and complete the assignments but I have yet to finish half of what I wanted to do and the break is almost over - tomorrow's the last day.

Saturday (20/9/2008)
Today's the finale for Inter-Faculty Games and I'm in the Science Reversi team. Reached MPSH 4 at about 9.30am. Didn't have a good start, I lost my first match to Ke Sin but it's okay she's really a good player. Carried on with another 3 games before we went for lunch. Had lunch with Leo, Jinfeng, Alex, Anthony, Mei Zhen, Ke Sin and Kai Chuan (i'm not really sure if I got their name right, I hope I did:P). More refresh after the break and I manage to win the 2 remaining games but the last game didn't start after some dispute from the medicine faculty. So there was quite a long delay but anyway, team science emerge as the champion - really happy for us (although I didn't contribute much).

After the prize presentation, we (Alex, Ke Sin, Leo and me) went for dinner at Clementi. We had Japanese meal, it's relatively cheaper and nicer than our school's. Left the place at about 7.20pm (Leo's late for his tuition!!). I went back to YIH to do archiving until about 10pm.

Sunday (21/9/2008)
Woke up quite early in the morning to do laundry. Really don't feel like doing anything after a tiring day. Anyway, I finish my laundry and ironed all my clothes. Studied a bit of biochemistry. Sleep. Went to YIH again at night to do archiving with Guo Qi and Sherly.

Monday (22/9/2008)
Today's my first outing with Video and Photographic Committee. The response wasn't that good. There were only 7 of us going for it. Met at PGP foyer at 1pm then we walked to Kent Ridge Park. It was quite a nice walk, the weather was nice - so it wasn't that tiring. But after that we have to climb the hill. That was really tiring. We were all sweating when we reach the top.

We continue our walk and photographing along the way. Oh and I forgotten to charge my camera so had to share the school's camera with Guo Qi. We continue our journey at Southern Ridges - Hortpark, Alexandra Arch, Forest Walk, Henderson Waves, Marang Trail and finally reaching Harbour Front. Took a bus back to PGP. Shower. Eat. Rest.

What does it take to be Student of the Year?

Intelligence. Enthusiasm for learning. Versatility of talent.

These qualities in Chin Fui San have certainly impressed her friends and tutors.

A promising young lady, Fui San joined the College in January 2006 after completing secondary education in Malaysia. In the 2007 GCE 'A' Level Cambridge Examination, Fui San attained distinctions in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics at H2 level, as well as distinctions in Economics and Malay Language at H1 level.

Fui San was a pleasure to teach because in what ever she undertook, she showed competence and passion to learn. A bright student, her contributions added spark to class discussions. In Mathematics for instance, her ability to think out of the box enabled her to obtain alternative solutions and arrive at uncommon perspectives. Fui San surpassed the expectations of all her tutors in her attitude and intellectual ability, and thus achieved consistently outstanding results during her course in TPJC.

In addition, her desire for learning extended beyond TPJC. She was especially fascinated by the Life Sciences and excelled at research-based assignments. It came therefore as no surprise that Fui San was the only representative from Tampines Junior College to be selected for the Research Attachment Programme jointly organised by the Ministry of Education, National University of Singapore and Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory in 2006. For her creative presentation at this event, she was awarded a book prize. Her thirst for intellectual adventure also led to her participation in the 2007 National ExoroGame Youth Challenge where her team attained third position. She also represented the College in the NUS Biomedical Quiz, Singapore Biology Olympiad and Singapore Mathematics Olympiad. Her enthusiasm for such myriad of enrichment activities is indeed refreshing.

Fui San was just as passionate about her CCAs. Her love for, and expertise in photography saw her appointment as President of Photography Society. As President, she was extremely dedicated and ensured the smooth running of the Society's activities. Her team organised training activities and coorganised the TPJC Photography Competition which was part of the Inter-Junior College Exhibition. Fui San's devotion to the Club was highly commended by her Photography teacher.

Fui San has what it takes to be student of the year: Intelligence, drive for learning and versatility of talent.

But there is one more quality I have not yet mentioned, a quality precious in this competitive society of ours. It is the quality of kindness. Fui San is a kind and sensitive individual, generous in giving her time and talent for the benefit of others.

Fui San committed herself to two community projects. She used her teachinical expertise in photography to bring cheer to children at a Christmas Party in Chen Su Lan Methodist Children's Home in 2006. In 2007, Fui San was photographer, editor and videographer of a video aimed at raising awareness on the proper care of pets.

In TPJC, though top in class, Fui San remained gracious. Her friends described her as someone who encouraged them when they were stressed, and she put her academic abilities to good use by helping classmates overcome their problems with their subjects.

Fui San has truly set her priorities right in life. It has been a joy knowing her the last two years.

Hmm...yea...i had always been telling u all the events and all...not much about the people rite?
haha...okay let me tell u more about the people here from college and from hostel....hehe
start with school...

we've got our civics rep. already...hendro...from Indonesia...he's really nice always reminds us about basically everything like what assignment to hand in what to bring the next day...and more...basically just like our personal diary...or even better...his quote ~ "drink more water" that's like what he told us almost everyday...and we've also gotten our pw groups I'm with daniel, elizabeth, eveline (not evelyn...haha), and marianne...i kinda like our group....everyone is like helping one another...not stressing up each other like the other groups...we even have time to joke around but of course have to keep close to our deadlines

hmm...we went over to elizabeth house today...she've got a small dog just like the one i used to have...damn cute....arrr....miss my dog too...anyway we were there doing our group project proposal and joking around until about 5 pm...hmm...next time show u their pictures...

and our class is like quite bonded now....but the guys are a bit 'crazy' though...haha...they each got a 'gay' partner...dunno what's wrong with them....teachers always try to separate them in class....and there was one day when xavier another guy in class wanted to go to the toilet together with melvin teacher was like must u go together? 'no,later' 'i think I'm going to pee in class' 'laugh laugh' and in the end teacher have no choice but to allow him to go along....then there's syida and adora...both of them had their bags loaded with goodies before coming to school....haha...sweets, chocolates, breads, cakes, etc... so we always have a small party before lessons...hehe....of course without the teacher knowing....don't really have any problem with people in my class...I'm nice to everyone mah...haha....just joking...they are all very nice....

as for hostel,hmm...did i tell u about this china scholar who's really weird? actually all of us here find her weird...not that she did anything to us but her attitude is just not like what most of us expect her to be...there was one day when we were walking home and she purposely disturb the dog....dunno why....and she was eating in the TV room which is air-conditioned...haiz...

hmm...the rest of the boarders here are quite nice and friendly...i told u about them already right?
mjc was having their common test last week and most of the are really stressed up and was also acting weirdly...we have a small birthday party for linh on saturday....sing wei, yung and san went to get her a birthday cake and present and dine in a Japanese restaurant before coming home....then sing wei was acting really weird after that...he says he's drunk??? yung says probably there's wine in his food...haha....and he was weird the whole day....but we think it's his way of releasing stress....so don't mind him...today he's much better... there's another funny thing happened....we had ice-cream after dinner today and we were the last one there as all the rest had left the hall....so when we went over to get our dessert, the auntie gave me two sticks of ice-cream...so i ask him to choose...one's pink and one's blue....guess which one he choose? the pink one...haha....but in the end i gave him the blue one....i think it's really weird for him to hold the pink ice-cream and walk around the hostel...

yeap I'm in photography and chess club..there will be tpjc runway tomorrow...kinda like fashion show for us with some other performances....but guess what can go in for free coz I'm doing photography duty...haha...lucky rite? and yesterday we had our chess competition...intra-college...not bad

and we will be having our sports day next Friday...but no one in our class is competing...we didn't get through the heats...so sad....but anyway will be attending it as well...on duty again..haha....then there will be the sea sports carnival...I'll be taking part in the dragon boat event only...scary leh...i don't know how to swim some more...haih...luckily not canoeing....the canoe can easily capsized...haha...

hmm...what else arr...yea so basically we are preparing for the events lorr...so must ready juggle our time well....as we'll be missing quite a lot of lessons and the common tests are just around the corner...the essay questions itself freak me out...haha...and same goes for maths...we took like 30minutes to solve one question today and that is relatively long for an a level question....haih...

We just had our sports day last week. And Hawk emerge as the overall champion..Yay!!! we are in Hawk (yellow - don't really like the colour) and we will be having our sea sports carnival on monday. currently Hawk and Heron (purple) are tied with 33 points each. so it depends on the jc1s to score.
We had our first dragon boat practice session on Saturday and it was really fun. most probably because it's my first time dragon boating...haha...we were there for more than 2 hours and all of us are like super tanned now.
The session was okay, well-organised because there is someone from dragon boat in our class, so he taught us all the techniques to row for a long distance. hopefully we can make it...haha!!!!yea!!!
however, we were not really concentrating as it was super hot and we are really tired after rowing for 1 hour so sight-seeing...we had sight-seeing almost every 50 strokes...and besides that we were playing with each other splashing water and joking around...also we wave at other people who were practicing there..tried to race with them but we are like nothing...can't even get close enough...main reason was because we had 7 people to their 20 people....so no matter how hard we tried we can do it...hopefully on that day we can over come all the other classes...and another of our mistake is singing while rowing...wasting our energy...haha...all the nursery rhymes...other people was like staring at us....including our seniors who were practicing there too...
oh yea we took almost one hour to locate the place...reached the mrt station at about 2 pm....walk around the park to look for the place until about 2.45pm before starting our official practice...hehe...actually we walk up and down the park for almost 3 times to find the training center...
yea and on the 20th of may is our college day, something like speech day too...but i will not be attending because we'll have some activity in hostel on the same day....so can't make it ....

We just had our school carnival cum open house ....yea same as you having speech day in school..wonder how's it? just like any other year? or somethin interesting happened? haha...really want to hear Pn. Hong's comment on the results...must be interesting as it involved us...
Hmm...as for our carnival there wasn't much interesting stuff...except that there's really a variety of games booth but all about academic in one way or another...there was science, maths, sports, and lots more...but unfortunately i'm on duty for photography so i got to be there as early as 7.30am to prepare and my duty's until 12 pm....didn't really do much just follow the vips walking from one booth to another...tiring....ahhh...but they talk so long at each booth and i can't be snapping their pictures all the time so i also sit down and play...haha....
there was haunted house also but they didn't allow me to enter with the camera as it will spoil the fun...dunno why...nvm about that...haha....and at 3.30pm our class is on duty to clean up the hall and the stadium...it was quite clean though so nothing much to do...went back and e-mail you now...haha
yeaterday was the asean night, did't attend because.....was too tired, came back late and miss the bus...haha...but they told me it was really fun and exciting...too bad i miss it...nvm there's still asean dance to come hopefully will be able to attend it...hmm...so that's all for now....

Ouu...haha...i didn't go to church these few days...we went to temple instead...it's much nearer..just walking distance...of course i'll remember you...you will too right? haha...so you'll be taking four subjects? that's great but not the same as ours here...maths and further maths are combined into one subjects...so you can take maths without further maths...and i seriously find it tough...you know how i was struggling with add maths last time.....arrr....yea so that's one big problem and of course my essays....another one...just had our gp test today...glad that's it's over...will get our biology and chemistry results tomorrow...hopefully i don't fail...

so your college life sounds so free and enjoyable....get to know lots of people...haha...yea i'm not doing my project work in the computer room...decided to take a break and reply your mail...hmmm...this is another BIG problem...now's just the beginning of the project...

i don't think i'll be going back for the speech day....i only got the spm award i think...so doesn't matter...haha...most of the time people don't go also..you must attend coz you've got the biggest award and i'm proud of it...haha...too bad i can't witness it....must take good photos to let me see ya... i actually thought of attending, however we'll be having our carnival on the same day...and it's compulsory...and the day before is the asean night but i'm most probably not going....ahaha...so you won't see me this saturday....haha....nvm will be coming back during the june holidays...do you all have holidays too??

I'm great here except that there are a lot of tutorials, assignments, projects and worst of all tests. There's a test after each chapter for each subject so it's like 'test' season now. Hmm...So how was Good Friday? Got a lot of Easter eggs? We went out to celebrate one the boarder, Sing Wei's birthday in the airport so no egg but only cake. Ha-ha, what a place to celebrate, in the airport we find it a bit weird though. Well, it's because we've got to send another boarder, Yung. She's going back to Vietnam to visit her grandmother. And believe it or not, Yung really reminds me about you. Well, it was since her first day here that I thought so but yesterday was really reminds me of you. Before we left for the airport she was sort of in a rush and left her ez-link card in the room and I thought it really looks like you when you are in a rush...haha…regardless of whether you are in school or at home…and remember the way we studied together before exam like skip this and skip that not important and all…and when we were at the airport already, the officer told her that they don't have here name in the system although she have got the ticket already so she was not allowed to check-in…well this somehow reminds me of you during our time in school I think for the SEWO concert or something…when you look really serious…ha-ha weird right? Must really introduce her to you if there's a chance. I had known her for less than a month but somehow we've got really close already…just like you and I…hehe of course I still think you are the best though. We had a small birthday party together yesterday night in the hostel also and played until quite late about 11pm before there was a roll call for all the JC boarders. Hmm…let me tell you more about our activities here for this month. Today, there will be a musical play organised by the City Harvest Church at the Singapore Expo Hall – Easter Encounter 20006. Haven't really confirm yet but I guess it will really be an eye opening experience. On Wednesday, we'll be having a Mathematics Enrichment Trip to NUS. Hopefully it will be enriching…ha-ha…on Friday will be the Asean Night…not sure what's there…most probably not going…coz Saturday's our college carnival cum open house. And guess what we've all got a free t-shirt to be worn on that day…The following Wednesday will be our Intra-college Chess Competition while on Saturday we will be having a friendly match with the Othello team from Nanyang JC. The first week of May we will have our first Learning Journey to the Supreme Court and on Saturday is my first Flag Day experience…So there's a lot of activities lined up for us so must really balance our time well as our common test is also around the corner. Hmm…school is great too. We are now having rock climbing for our Skill PE classes and it's really fun but not the part where we've got to keep the equipments and the warm up process where we have to run at least 4 rounds, 20 push-ups and 20 sit-ups before we can start climbing. Oh yea, we are now starting a new term and there's quite a number of changes. Our tutors, our classmates and of course our workloads…ha-ha…We've got new economics teacher, she's quite okay but I still prefer the old one. As for our GP teacher I think she's fine coz both the former and present teacher's teaching methods are the same…And PE was the best of all coz we've got a teacher who allow us to do conditioning and games alternately during our PE lessons. Our classmates, most of them are in different JCs now and we've got 23 people in our class…most of them are new of course and there's only 2 foreign students left. One's me and another's from Indonesia (not the same one as in term 1). And worst of all, I'm the only student in our MTL language class from 06S05 (my class) =( Hmm…so are you still catching up with the rest? Can't wait for the holidays to come. Oh yea, will you all be having holiday the same time as we do?

Hello!!! miss home, miss family, miss all of you!!!! (",) Yea, I'm currently taking A' Levels in Singapore. Anyway I was here for almost two weeks and everything have been quite pleasant....how about u all? e-mail me whenever u are free...hehe...i want to get updated too...I'm enrol in Tampines Junior College and staying at Anglican House (quite far from school). So far the people are all very nice, friendly and helpful. Let me start from my hostel....there's 8 of us in year one, 4 from Malaysia (Jade, Sing Wei, Clifford,and me) 1 from Laos (Sanva), 1 from Vietnam (Linh), and 2 from Philipines (Miguel and Vasin) and there's 6 seniors also in JC 2.....2 from Indonesia(Ardi and Debora), 1 from Thailand (Oak), 2 from Malaysia (Yu Shan and Ariff) and 1 from China (Hu Shan) yea so that's the ppl i'm closer with..the rest of the boarders are from China....My room mate's from China too...she's in Sec 3...We do have a bit of communication problem as she speaks in Mandarin and i don't understand....so we got a chinese-english dictionary....imagine us using a dictionary to talk...haha...anyway we are quite okay now....Anyway, we (JC1s) usually meet at the music room in the hostel (it's air-conditioned) so Sing Wei played us a few songs(including Negaraku)...haha....we also watch comedies , movies and concerts using the laptop....we were learning some dance steps that Jade did for the ASEAN dance last year....yea....okay now my college...My first day in school was an orientation campfire....just like those campfire we usually have but the performances are all held in the hall...we have fun dancing, singing and cheering for our family too...we have 6 families altogether: rolling setones, eagles, abba, the who, the beatles and bee gees...i'm in the beatles......we were awarded the most enthusiastic family that night.....lesson started on monday...only lectures for the first week...i've experienced how's it like to be really early and really late to school( not that we woke up late but because we were walking too slow and miss the bus =P) i usually goes to school with jade and ardi coz they will lave the hostel earlier compared to the rest....our civic tutor's (class teacher) really nice....and she'll be our chemistry tutor too...yay!!!on sunday, i went to church with my relatives....first we went to one of the 'lighters' house and have cell group studies then we sang a few songs...after lunch we went back to church and we had more fun and exciting songs .... so far i've been to a few shopping complexes; Tampines Mall, Parkway Parada, City Hall, Marina Square, and one more that i dunno what's it called....we have 3 periods of PE lessons per week....2 for Sppe and 1 for pe...the first week we had 15m dash, standing board jump, high jump,and one more not sure what it is....something like running too...then the following weeks we had running for both pe and spe...to perpare for the college road run...so we have to run about 2.4km every week together with 40 push ups and 40 sit ups....on sunday....i didn't go to church that week....we were in hostel doing our maths tutorial before going to surf the internet in the computer room and after all that we went to the music room again to play the piano....i've learn a bit about piano too...sing wei taught me...haha....but of course i'm a bad student so just only know how to use 1 hand so far.....then Linh and Sanva went to Marina Parade for some CIB project...jade and vasin went to shop....so we were there playing ourselves....oh yea....my civics group's 06s05...there's about 22 of us.....there's quite a number of foreign students too....we'll be having an inter-class debate really soon...right after the cny holiday...(weds) and our motion's 'this house believes that youths live passionately'....haven't got our points yet....coz we were the proposition and we think that we don't live passionately....and on friday...we had a multi-cultural festive celebration in college....so school ended earlier....back in hostel we have steamboat reunion dinner cum party for cny....so we were all having fun...and after that i went to my uncle's house and back to malaysia on saturday!!!!yay!!!Yea that's all for now...not that much of interesting thing happen...keep u all update next time...enjoy yourself...and don't forget to e-mail me too....see ya all!!!

Yupz...i've got new puppies...not one but TWO...haha....one's brown and one's black...totally black....and guess what one's male and one's female...woohoo...great...by the way...what are they called again...rocky??...erm...nope, that's the teddy bear dog...they are called roger and candy....what are the meanings??? well, i guess there's no special meaning ...just like all my previous dogs...just the name....easy to remember ....easy to call...so yea...they are like kinda living together happily...but just one thing ... it's hard when it comes to feeding them....the bigger one (roger) always finishes its food so much faster than candy (well candy is really small) so when it finished it tends to eat candy's food too...and that brings a fight....haha....well, it's always settle when we give him extra food (dog biscuits)...and it's getting better nowadays....it was really naughty ...kept biting people...but it's totally different now...he's always listening to instruction....it's also smarter...hehe....guess what?? it can shake with both left and right hand ...or do you call it paws...anyway, it can also stand on two feet (well, it only works when there's food)... and today, i just gave two of them a great bath...haha...well...maybe myself too...hehe...catch up more next time...nitez

Yes, it's Monday again. Today's assembly was cancelled coz the form 3s are having some gerak gempur or something so we were sitting in class. Chemistry was as usual, we did the haba pembakaran eksperimen. Back to class for add maths, we did kebarangkalian and pn. mano told us not to spoil her mood like last wednesday. 'membentangkan' some tema kemerdekaan for moral 'malaysia jaya, kita kaya' ....well, we were like the only group that did it but anyway glad that we are done or else she'll be really angry with us...went for biology class after recess....we did the Hukum Mendel I experiment (well....we hadn't been doing experiment for quite some time)....our groups result wasn't accurate probably because we use different sizes of seeds....est was again nothing special...but we'll be watching vcd after school....finally finished our syllabus for sejarah....YAY!!!....school ends.....but got to stay back for est...kinda fun this week coz we get to watch osmosis jones rather than doing questions...class ended ...we didn't finish the movie...got to continue after trials....reach home at about 2.30pm but baby ryan was disturbing me so couldn't doing much till he's asleep at 3...okay....finally get to check my mails for our add maths project....begin to type it out the answers but something's wrong with the internet connection so can hardly discuss with june....that's not the worst part.....just i was about to save the document..."POOF" blank.....no electricity...arrgh...all my hardwork....nothing i can do about it....anyway i got an ice-cream while waiting.....it was about 4.30pm when i start my work again.....so it was like wasting my whole afternoon doing nothing....haih..

Woke up quite late cause we (juo nan, cassy, june and i) were discussing our Add Maths project online till very very late...after doing all the wash up, had breakfast and guess what??!! i started watching tv (OMG...shouldn't i be studying??). well it was about 2 pm when it starts to rain heavily...so i have to switch off the tv and back to my room...started doing the add maths questions nirmala gave...suddenly, it seems like rain coming in from the window so i closed all of them....real tight ....continue with add maths but couldn't do any so i decided to read a little on sejarah in the living room...with pillows all over...hehe....but forgotten something so have to get it in my room...and just as i step in my room...OH MY GOODNESS...it's FLOODED....i realised the rain are coming from the ceiling not the windows....quickly safe my books (as usual they are on the floor...hehe...super messy) and have to start mopping....done at about 5 pm...everything was okay except for my teddies....they were soaking wet...poor fellows.... so they have to be under the sun the next day....=P....

This year's gathering organised by the 1st Unit Rangers was a major success. The theme "faces of Creation" highlights the diversity in our nation. It is a reminder to us all that we are all different, yet the same. We were created by the Almighty and put on earth for a purpose. Therefore, everyone should realise this and seize the opportunity God has given us to make a difference in the world around us. The general objective of the gathering is to build a common understanding and relationship between schools especially among the scouts and guides.

On the 19th of February 2005, more than 400 scouts, guides and rangers mainly from schools in Klang Valley attended this event. Upon registration, they were given a programme book before proceeding to the canteen for breakfast which was provided.

The gathering started at 9.30am sharp after everyone was seated in the hall. The roll call was announced after a speech by our teacher advisor. Next up, was the ice breaker ~ 'bomb game'. The game was fun with every school oozing with competitive spirit whilst gleefully trying to outdo one another. The audience was entertained by songs sang by our fellow rangers. As for the games section, we had, 'Building a mini gadget', 'Coconut painting', 'Happy Family', 'Burst the balloons', and 'Pass the egg'.

With all the fun and excitement, everyone forgot about the time and by then, it was time for the closing ceremony which saw each school received a souvenir as an acknowledgment for their presence. The singing of 'Taps' thus ended the gathering.

It was truly a memorable and enjoyable day.

Greetings and a warm welcome to everyone present here today. The flame burns on and it's time for us to open our doors once again to the familiar faces we often see in the exciting world of scouts, rangers and guides. This gathering would not be successful and meaningful without your presence and full support.

I am honoured to be entrusted with this responsibility to organise our 5th Annual Gathering today. Working towards this gathering has indeed been a tough and challenging task but it is an enriching and rewarding one. This year's theme,"Faces of Creation" brings the meaning of different culture, personality, race , habits together in the world of guiding and scouting.

Next, I would like to thank our beloved principal, Puan Hong Yin Wah, our teacher advisors, Cik Yap Yoke Fong and Puan Munarita for their invaluable advice, the organising committee for helping more I could ever help them, the various sponsors for their generosity, and not forgetting our very own 1st Unit Rangers and 5th and 17th P.J. Coy Girl Guides. Lastly, we sincerely apologise for any mistakes that we have done or anyone I have left out in the message.

Hey everyone there! Our newsletter is finally out! Producing this very one and only newsletter of 17th P.J. Coy this year, is not an easy job. We have to chase after people for reports and articles, typing, editing, printing, & etc. Special thanks to our supportive teacher advisors, Mrs George and Pn. Mages for guiding us with patience throughout the whole year everywhere , every time and almost in everything. Oh yeah, we almost forgot Thank you very much to you too! Yes, you! - the one who is reading this newsletter now.

To all the new C.O.H members and the incoming guides, congratulations and hope you'll enjoy learning new stuff through guiding. To all Form 3's who are stepping down soon, hope you had a great time throughout the years in 17th P.J. Coy. Lastly, we would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody - teacher advisors, guides, parents, siblings, friends..and the list goes on once more for making this newsletter a success. Morning! Afternoon! Evening! To all my dear guides and recruits...eh, freshies I mean (sorry) and not forgetting all you readers there. First and foremost I would like to thank everyone for buying (or reading) this very first and last, pretty, cute and sweet newsletter for the year. A big thank you to my ever-so-on-time editor and secretary, Jiaqi for finally producing this newsletter to preserve all the sweet memories. (Yay!!! *clap clap*) I would also like to take this one-in-a-million opportunity to thank the C.O.H. Members 2002/2003 for their support, cooperation and help throughout the year. After all the hard work and struggle...AT LAST...our very own newsletter is out. (We've made it) Also to our beloved teacher advisor, Mrs. George and Mrs. Mages, thank you for guiding us everywhere we went and in everything we did and keeping us out of trouble during most of our weekly meetings.

Last by not least, I would like to extend my warmest welcome to all the new guides for the year 2003. (Congratulations!! Hope you all will have fun being part of 17th P.J. This year's joint venture was co-organised between the 12th Petaling Scouts, guides and rangers from 5th and 17th P.J. Coy Guides and the 1st Unit Rangers of Assunta. It was held in the premises of La Salle school and the area around our school and Taman Jaya. The objective of the Joint Venture is to build a common understanding and relationship between schools.

On the 12th of July 2003, the guides, rangers and recruits gathered early in the morning at our school car park at around 8.00am. The the fee was collected and we were divided into patrols. Before we start our journey, we had a short briefing by Ma'am Ashwinna (the Unit Leader). Then at about 8.30am we started walking.

I guess it was around 8.50am when we reached there (taking our sweet time, busy talking and enjoying the fresh air). We assembled in front of the scouts den together with the scouts. In our 'new' formed patrols, we were briefed about the Joint Venture by the Organising Chairperson and the committees were introduced. The official opening ceremony was the flag-break, which flagged the beginning of Joint Venture 2003.

We then proceed to the tarmac for an ice-breaking session. There, we got to know our patrol members better and we were taught how to interpret the scouts' commands. Besides that, we were asked to choose a suitable name for our patrol and a 'bomb name' for the Bomb Game. Well, our patrol came up with a long tongue twister for the Bomb Game so it will be harder for the other patrols to remember and we will have a higher chance of winning.

After the game, everyone were instructed to change for the upcoming activity; Station Games. It consists of eight different stations Our patrol started on with the Blind Man's Buff; a game which depends in the listening skill of the members (since we were blindfolded). Then, we proceed to Trust Fall, Spider web, Kim's game; where we were required to see and remember. all the items there in 30 seconds and write them down again after that. Next was the so called ' Plastic Bag Game'; which requires the members to be alert and catch the plastic bags filled with water using their shirts, Longest line and Kim's Game II; where we were now asked to use our TASTING SKILL to taste the food that was put into our mouth. Since we were running out of time, we did not get to play Charades, which was the last station.

Before we knew it, our stomach was grumbling (hungry!!). So we proceed to the canteen to get our food and drinks. After eating, we had a short rest before moving on to the next activity; TREASURE HUNT. It was held in the area around SMK La Salle, SMK Assunta and Taman Jaya. (pooh! so tiring and hot). We were required to look for a piece of paper (which was hidden before this) to complete the STA (Spare time activity).

We were back in La Salle after the Treasure Hunt at about 2.15pm. Although our patrol wasn't the first patrol to come back, we were the first one that complete all the STA. (Yay!!!)

At about 3.15pm we gathered again to get ready for the next activity which was Commando Course. Marks were given according to the ability of the patrol members to complete the obstacles, particularly the guides and rangers, who would get more marks compared to the scouts. There were altogether seven stations. We started with Wall Climbing followed by Bakau Climbing, Physical Fitness (which was kind of torturing like push up, pumping, sit up, and many many more), Donkey Kong, Water Balloon Filling (which was more or less like a rest station as all the balloons were already filled by the other patrols), Elevator and lastly Leopard and Monkey Climb.

After a 'water fight' session, we changed back into our full uniform and assembled for the last time in front of the den for the closing ceremony. The patrols standing were announced (surprisingly our patrol was announced as the winner *clap clap clap*) followed by the prize presentation. Then there was a souvenir exchange ceremony. That brings us to the end of Joint Venture 2003. The time to leave had come.

In spite of the overwhelmed pain and being exhausted, a fresh memory of the Joint Venture and the people who participated in it was in mind and it will stay for a long time.

On the 28th of June 2003, 12 members of our coy attended the 40th Annual Campfire organised by the 12th Petaling Scout Troop of La Salle P.J. It was held in the school field. We gathered at the main gate of the school at about 6.30pm. But as if it was a tradition, some participants came late and we waited for at least half an hour before we went in.

Upon registration, we each received a programme book which must have cost a lot since it was printed in colour using good quality papers. After that, we walked over a gadget (which was like a wooden bridge..and it's kinda shaky) before we could get to the field.

Then, we got seated and sat with the rangers and 5th P.J. Coy Guides. As usual everyone was doing what was expected in campfires; walking around asking for autographs. Naturally, Assuntarians just sat there and waited for someone to ask us to sign their programme book.

Finally, the campfire started at 8.00pm. The roll call was announced followed by a few speeched. Next was the fire lighting ceremony which marks the beginning of the campfire. It was actually pretty impressive. Next up, was the 'bomb game'! Assunta guides and rangers made up team 'sakai'. The game was really fun with every school oozing with competitive spirit whilst gleefully trying to outdo one another.

Then the audience was entertained by a sketch acted out by the Form 3 scouts of La Salle. Next up was the paper dance. Then we were given a packet of food (with sandwiches, sausages, and doughnut in it) and a bottle of drink as refreshment.

The campfire then resume with a humorous sketch by the Form 3 scouts again. The games session then continued with 'love tunnel'.

Next was the La Salle very own 'Fear Factor' challenge. Every school was required to send out one representative. A fellow ranger from our school went out and qualified into the second round. Unfortunately, she did not win that competition.

It was truly a memorable and enjoyable day.

On the 29th of April 2003, there was a Gathering in SMK Taman Petaling. The event started at 12.30pm. The theme of this event was 'Beautiful'. The Gathering started with speeches by the teacher advisor. There were many games and performances presented to the audiences. The games that were held was quite fun such as 'statue dance', 'happy family' and 'paper dance'. There was also a dance presented by the students of SMK Taman Petaling. After that, we had our refreshments. We waited for quite a long time for refreshments because there were many people there. We were starving while waiting food and almost died of hunger! Then, we went back into the hall to continue the event. Gathering ended at 5.30pm with the souvenir presentation.

On the 26th of April 2003, we went to a gathering at SMK Sri Aman. We entered the school after everyone arrived. We were asked to enter the nicely decorated hall. It was indeed a grand sight. We then waited enthusiastically for the event to start. Then, there were a few speeches. After that, we were presented by a few performance. Most of the performance were quite short but it did capture our attention. One of the performances was the 'Fashion Show' where the performers parade their fashionable dresses around the hall. There were lots of games and performances held to keep us entertained. Then, we were given a break. The foods were satisfactory. After that, we proceed back to the hall to continue the event. Finally, the gathering ended with the souvenir presentation to the units, coys and troops who came.

On the 27th of March 2003, Assunta (2) primary school had their Sports Day. Early in the morning, teachers and students were already there decorating their respective tents and also getting prepared for the event. There were many parents who came for the event too. We were required to be there at 8.00am to help the teachers carry out the event smoothly.

As I was busy helping teachers to carry stuff needed for the games such as skittles, hoops, skipping ropes etc., I saw all tents were beautifully decorated. There were four tents as there were four colour houses Assunta (red), Clare (blue), Francis (green) and Hermine (yellow).

The event started with marching and speeches by the headmistress and the chairperson of Parent and Teachers' Society of Sekolah Kebangsaan Assunta (2). Then, the event started with games for students from Year One to Year Six followed by some entertainment by the cheerleaders. All of them were dressed in costumes that made them look so cute.

Next up was the certificate presentations to all the guides (5th and 17th PJ COY) and PBSM who come to help throughout the day. After that we were given food and drinks for refreshment.

Then, the event carried on with games for parents, teachers and former Assuntarians. The overall winner was Francis house. The event then ended with the singing of school song followed by the National Anthem.
